It's far worse than I thought
I don't hear the Creationists calling for the Evolutionists to be "segregated" "isolated" or using the truly insidious tactic of calling them "dangerous" or "a threat". Maybe they are nutters, too. I don't listen very often. But what I read here chills me. I fear rabid belief and Orthodoxy from any sector.
These people are as dangerous as any raider, slaver culture or other predatory group in history.
Why not just build some concentration camps? Seems there are a lot of LWs stopping only short of directly advocating them. Hatred and fear.

@verelse
More evidence supporting the theory of devolution.
"Insidious new assaults" - I guess that people are not scared of Al Qaeda or the Islamofascist threat anymore.
Well we won't be reading or hearing that phrase, "insidious new assaults" the next time we start bombing and shooting at people who have done us no wrong.
Even more evidence supporting the theory of devolution.

Internet pamphlets
verelse wrote:
Nice try to seem more knowledgeable, droogoy, by pointing to an internet pamphlet with very deep organic chemistry. Did you write it? I think not, somehow
So WHAT????? The link conveniently embodies not only EVIDENCE but TESTS for FALSIFICATION which YOU SAID didn't exist. My point wasn't to proffer an absolutism, but merely to refute your brand of bollocks that evolution lacked falsifiability and predictions that could be confirmed.
Must I "reinvent the wheel" each time I am making a point, when there are dozens of sites and forums on which I debate? I think not. Not any more than I need to reproduce opacity tables each time I discuss stellar evolution or nuclear reactions within O, B type stars.
Only a moron or fool would expect that one create or produce original work in response to each intemperate remark by some lunatic halfwit on the net.
All you do is confirm my original take, that you are an ineffable bozo, and twit. You are not worth the time and troulbe to respond to beyond this little takedown.

Watch out, droogoy: he's an intellectual
He also writes: "I fear rabid belief and Orthodoxy from any sector."
That is, he will not believe you if you say that Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809; he has to prove it for himself and then write a pamphlet bout his findings.
Eeep.

Who is crazier?
I know this might sound crazy, but I will never, ever understand why religious views and science must be completely separate. I don’t see why a belief in God forces you to not believe in science. To me, THAT is plain crazy. If you believe God created the Earth, then why couldn’t He have created evolution, too?
I believe in God. I believe that God gave me a brain. I believe that it would be a sin not to use my brain. Denying scientific fact in the name of God doesn’t make you a better Christian, it makes you sound like a crazy person.

The Fear of Evolutionist
I don't know why evolutonist hide behind the cloak of science to refuse a debate with Creationist or Intelligent Design. No fossils have been found showing one species evolving into another. Many attempts to show evolution scientifically have proven to be hoaxes. The primary reason some cling to evolution to explain life is their Godless worldview. If there is a God, then they are held accountable to a higher authority which means absolutes and they, in no way, want that worldview. It would infringe on their lifestyle. You can deny gravity all you want but it has no effect on reality. You can deny creation, but one day you will stand before that Creator, that Intelligent Designer. It was the scientist Pascal who said, " You can wager that God is and lose nothing, or you can wager that He isn't and lose everything, therefore I choose to wager that God is."

R E S P E C T
it seems to me everyone backs into opposite corners on this one. evolutionists insist it proves there is no god, and creationists get insulted at being told they came from monkeys. well, i do believe in evolution and a creator. i refuse to pick sides. but i do think science should be taught in science class, as long as they don't insist it proves there is no god. and religious leaders shouldn't tell something as stupid as the earth is 6K years old. let's have some more respect in this debate.

To Creationist
So does your "lifestyle" comport with the demands of the Creator as laid out in the books I assume you are arguing from? (since you say we are going to stand before a creator, that implies a belief in the judeo-christian version of the story)
So I ask you - does your lifestyle comply with the book? Do you honor the sabbath? Do you sacrifice animals on the alter because the smell is pleasing to the lord? To you kill your children if they sass you? Do you eat shellfish? Does the rabbit chew the cud? If you answer wrong on questions like these you are going to have a lot to answer for on judgment day.
If you pussy out and say that a belief in Jesus gets you off the hook, where is the logic in that? He only died for three days - is that supposed to be a "sacrifice"?
-
Creationist, why are you hiding?
Go ahead and debate. There are plenty of papers being published today on evolution - mutations, natural selection, genetic markers that are inherited, enzymes that are the same from species to species, DNA and RNA structures. Those scientists are publishing their findings in journals; their names are available. Go ahead and debate - propose an alternative theory that explains the findings of whatever it is that's in the article. Conduct an experiment to prove your theory - get yourself some yeast or bacteria and see if they really behave the way you say they would.
So why aren't you out there debating? What is your explanation? What's your proof?

"evolutionists insist there is no god" what complete bullshit
the only thing "evolutionists" as evolutionists insist on is that evolution and only evolution provides a scientifically valid theory as to how life on earth got from it's origin to it's present state. I suppose it's better when the completely irrational beliefs and motivations that underlie peoples arguments are brought out into the open then when they are successfully hidden.
