Police have cracked down on funeral processions, a time-honored cultural tradition in the historic black neighborhood of Treme. But musicians vow to play on.
  • Here's An Idea

The police can take the complaint about the *daytime* commotion, get the name and address of the person complaining, send ONE unit to that house, take a report, thank them for their time, and then go deal with real crimes. They do that where I live.

Better yet, an ambitious young lawyer or politician can rally the people to get a ballot measure up to exclude funeral processions from permit fees. Its not like they're making money or causing a ruckus.

But, no, that's too sensible. Its the end times for NOLA culture and that's a damned shame.
