God help this country
If one of these jokers replaces the Current Idiot. That's really all anyone can say. Well, except the media types who keep taking them seriously and soft-pedaling their insanity ... Walter.

Ron Paul
Because real men respect the Constitution and the rule of law, and do not trade in their wives every few years like automobiles.
Ok that's a cheap shot, but I've heard too many Republicans with multiple divorces 'defending marriage' lately.

I was too harsh
I know you have to take them seriously; they want to be President. And you did slam them. I just wish you could really lay it on. People like this either believe what they are saying ... in which case they are soulless slime creatures; or they don't, in which case they are pandering soulless slime creatures with toxic ambition.

Fakery
Why are pols so fake, everyone apart from themselves, knows this, a friend of mine once said that 'anyone who wants to be a pol shouldn't be allowed to be' there has to be a better way to choose our government, but the one with the most money isn't that way.

Republican Type Casting
It was good to see the "performance" of Thompson evaluated. He is an actor, after all, and not a very good one. (It was nice to see Hillary off the hook.)
If innocusousness is a prerequisite for a candidate, it sounds like Thompson is ahead of the pack. This is where being from New York gives Giuliani an edge. In this town, if the cat catcher isn't tough as nails he doesn't last long, much less the mayor.
It's McCain's jaw that makes him so formidable. I still don't know the story of it, but on the man who is the real deal it adds gravitas if nothing else. It's just that I can't get a fix on his politics. A bomber with a heart? It sounds too much like a contradiction in terms in this country.
I like Mitt cause he looks so much like a car salesman, the kind you think is giving you a good deal. Look at Reagan. I mean look at Reagan. Look at Mitt. It's Republican type casting.

Macho in a major Hollywood production sort of way...
WTF, in the name of Elmer Fudd, what's the point with this article? That image is a factor in the presidential election and macho is a big thing for the GOP? Well duh!
If nothing else explains W in an aviation suit on an aircraft carrier and the Connecticut cowboy BS, then this certainly does...and yet the discussion of macho in a lightweight form is a disservice to the whole process, even it's a real factor.
Instead you guys should be debunking and de-constructing this crap. Like this:
Giuliani - over-compensating high school student council, alter boy fascist macho, i.e., he gets macho hiding behind an institution. A Guilani admin would be one big bullying tantrum run amok and an eternal effort to prop up the facade of power...by whatever means necessary.
Thompson - big, soft, looks macho, sissy country boy faux macho, i.e., he actually plays the part on TV but he's soft and has no cajones. A Thompson admin would be dispatched from a far but without ideology of Reagan but ability of puppetry handling things. The economy would sink this admin but he might listen to the army.
McCain - real POW, hair-trigger on the a-bomb, stark, raving mad, revenge macho, i.e., if Johnny is commander in chief, we should be scared or build bomb shelters. A McCain admin would be about war, war, war and cold sweats in the middle of the night thinking about war.
An over-simplification? Sure but at least it's an effort to uncover the baloney that continues to plague the voting mind of America.

Locker-Room Male Insecurity
One of the funniest things about the average male Repooplican is the almost maniacal insecurity over the size, or the lack therof, of the phallus...metaphorically speaking, of course.
Trying to out-macho each other would be completely laughable, except for the fact that these over-grown fratboys are vying to be Commander-In-Chief. Feeling less "masculine" usually leads to an over-compensation such as a phony war; nothing makes the ol' phallus less flaccid than a good and manly invasion, right?
But, God knows, we don't need another towel-snapping frat-boy in the White House; we have one of those now...and, hows that been working out?

I'll say what's on my mind again.
I've been to Vietnam five times. The first time was in the horrible war after I was drafted in 1969.
The four other times were humanitarian returns. My two son went with me on a month long tourist visit with a Amerasian friend family (that's a whole other sad story).
Each time while in Vietnam we had excellent interpreters. A two month construction of a demolished health clinic, that was bombed by American B- 52's in '72, was only six kilometers outside of Hanoi.
The two month return visit was instructive to me. Twelve veterans and a lady, a former volunteer 'pink striped' and nicknamed a "doughnut dollies" in the war, traveled with us. The '90 volunteer 'mission' was to help Vietnamese construct, in 1990 as the First Gulf War was premeditated, a bombed civilian population area.
A "Friendship Health Clinic" was built in two-months and the non-war experience then, no one was dropping dead, was the most informative. Hospitality was beautiful. A person was humbled as poor villagers prepared meals, tea, herb drinks, and sometimes just smiled...
In the city renamed Ho Chi Minh, formerly Saigon, the interpreter assigned to us was a government assigned one: He was witty, eloquent, educated, and he took us everywhere he could. The Hotel Hilton, etc., are old names, revisited. The interpreter mentioned to me, and I've no reason to disbelieve him, said McCain was fed while in prison well, and treated better than the Vietnamese.
The interpreter said, true or false, who knows...?...that the captured downed bombers were treated better than the peasantry that was daily bombarded, grew cooperative rice for a communist overlord, and persisted to struggle in great impoverishment/deaths, etc., from constant American aerial attacks.
All three pictured above sicken a better, more civil, and respected humanity.
IMO- the whole GOP,
sickie's, depraved.
