Wannabe VP Huckabee only raised 1M last quarter. Maybe Huckabee as VP to Scoop and Dump or Romney can provide the compromise the "first tier" GOP candidates need to sucker the evangelicals into the voting booth.
for the Republicans, fear is a renewable resource:
"It's not going to do me any good to be pro-life if I am blown up"
This country is totally insane. We get what we deserve -- good and hard.
Gosh, Giuliani has a fresh new approach to public management. He wants to uh, bafr, blesaaj, uh, enwro, nork, lie some, lie some more, get money.
Fool me once, fool me twice, see how many politicians turn out.
We can not afford another professional.
That means no Democrats, no Republicans, no Independents, none of their offspring, their best friends, their mother, their legal counsel, their former anything. If the American Citizen is going to survive in a circumstance that supports healthy humans, we have to come up with a whole new plan.
Giuliani's law firm represents the banking consortium that is financing the Texas Super Cooridor, the NAFTA Enema, the North American Union Job and Business Siphon, The Area 51 Road, or whatever you want to call it. Elect Giuliani and you might as well call your neighbor Juan, because eventually, that's what his name will be. If you want to know what New Yorker's think of him, Google 'firefighter's and Giuliani' and find out how much of a hero the real heroes think he is.
We have to come up with a whole new idea, and it isn't going to be centered around Democrat, Republican, or Independent anything.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, Where did all these candidates come from?
We really need to have some kind of test to qualify for voting in this country. Just something to show that you have some basic grasp of the issues, because right now there are a whole lot of stupid, stupid people with way too much control over where this country goes.
I'm tired of having to worry about what amount to mentally-defective (really, actually mentally ill) zombies. I'm tired of having the fearful sheep wielding this much control over what could be, and has been, a beacon in the night for the world.
I cannot stress enough that these people deserve none of what they have. Contempt and scorn should be all that greets their bleatings, but because of a political perfect storm we get to be a country fueled by fear and hatred.
Thus the only way to prevent these retards from owning our future is to have some kind of qualification test to vote.
I dislike these people. Strongly. I hope I've made that clear.
Huckabee is the 2008 Jimmy Carter, albeit Republican. After Iowa and NH, Giuliani, Romney, Thompson and Huckabee will remain. South Carolina will wash out Romney; Thompson will fade. Giuliani and Huckabee will end up holding the two top spots. Unclear which will get top billing but, either way, it will prove to be a surprisingly strong ticket.
Republicans will be disappointed in the spending levels of the new administration.
I admit, my reaction was this: http://itsafraid.ytmnd.com/
The only "values" promoted by these people are those of extreme intolerance and determined self-deceit, the more cruelly intolerant and dishonestly deceitful the better.
'Social conservatism' is largely a euphemism for 'anti-abortion'. No other issue has much political value with the Religious Right, so it is framed and conflated with 'anti-gay-rights' and 'anti-immigration' to maximize its political value as a hot-button issue, framed with gross dishonestly and with studied hypocrisy, all the while promoting social conditions which ensure that the US has as many abortions as possible.
Meanwhile their leaders, religious and political, prey on little boys, consort with prostitutes, and make themselves wealthy on the contributions of brainwashed impoverished rednecks. These people prove they are no 'Christians' every way they can, and all of those ways embrace and endorse mindless hate.
Nobody seems to have noticed that the Constitution explicitly prohibits religious tests for public office, and yet this conference is nothing but one whopping religious test for public office. Yet another reason for right-wing predators to despise the Constitution.
Jesus and Jefferson would never stop throwing up.
Huckabee 2nd, Giuliani 3rd. We now return you to our regularly scheduled ignorance.
I give the organizers of the Values Voter Summit kudos for using the baptized-down phrase "Values Voter." The summit's name really should have been Right Wing and White Bible Thumpin' Christian Voters Summit. But why are members of that group so afraid to call themselves what they are? After all, they believe that "truth will set them free". Don't they love freedom???
We should also speak about catering to the Jewish right. The ex-mayor does it. He has many right wing Jews on his foreign policy panel.
Actually Romney came in 1st in the straw pollHuckabee 2nd, Giuliani 3rd. We now return you to our regularly scheduled ignorance
Did you make this up? Because it is wrong. Here are the overall results of the strawpoll:
1. Mitt Romney ... 27.62 %2. Mike Huckabee ... 27.10 %
3. Ron Paul ... 14.98%
4. Fred Thompson ... 9.77 %
5. Sam Brownback ... 5.14 %
6. Duncan Hunter ... 2.42 %
7. Tom Tancredo ... 2.30 %
8. Rudy Giuliani ... 1.85 %
9. John McCain ... 1.40 %
The results, not including the Internet votes:
Mike Huckabee 488 ... 51.26%Mitt Romney 99 ... 10.40%
Fred Thompson 77 ... 8.09 %
Tom Tancredo 65 ... 6.83 %
What hypocrites what rice bowl christians!
21) Jesus loves you, and shares your vicious hatred of homosexuals, Hillary Clinton, Mooslims, people who want to reign in corporate excesses, anti-war activists, Nobel Prize winners, non-whites, organizations that track mind-control cults, evolutionary biologists, people who go to the wrong church, and eight other categories of scapegoats to be named later.
Child molesters and mass murderers who vote Republican: still okay.
Once again, the media has dropped the ball. These guys get to call themsleves "values voters" because no one in the media has bothered to challenge their claim on the term. How hard would it be to get Gary Buaer on "Meet the Press" and ask him why his group should get to determine what "values" are? This is just like the culture war as a whole. It only became a real issue because the republicans woke up one day and decided to go on TV and call it one. With no challenge from the media asking "Wait a minute, why is this important?" Maybe I should make up an issue that doesn't exist and claim it as a legitimate concern. Apparently anybody can.
These people are trying to reduce gays to sub-human status and the media looks on. They are trying to ignore scientific reality both in terms of the age of the Earth and pregnancies and the media looks on. They think the tax payers should help them use the school system to recruit other people's kids to their faith and the media looks on. "Well , that's just those 'values' voters for you, they're just 'concerned' about the direction of the country." Aren't we all. The difference is, most of us aren't trying to say that our fellow Americans don't have a place here just because they don't think like us. The "treat everyone equally" mentality guiding the media today is killing this country.
I got news for you, people whose biggest concern is transexuals on TV and challenging science that doesn't tell them what they want to hear are not out to protect anyone from anything, they are out to run your life and create a society where anyone who doesn't live their life like a fifties TV show is a big evil other. The woman from podunk nowhere who thinks she's gonna get "blown up" is proof at how effective this kind of simplistic thinking works.
