ill have more to say about this article per se, but i guess the above link gives me some hope
...and you might just wake up dead, having been eaten in your sleep.
Consider the most unholy alliance which could include not only Bibi Netanyahu, Dick Cheney, various End-timers from both the US Christian Right and Israel's own crazed right wing, hangers-on from the remains of the collapsed Bush administration, and subtly led from behind by the unsavory Arcadi Gaydamak: AIPAC could well become a victim of its own misguided intentions by working with demonic forces not in the interest of the state of Israel but supportive of a pogrom aimed at anyone who supports middle east peace and stability, which are seen as threats to the Great Beast rising from the heart of the most holy of holy lands.
The end-game is not one about oil. nor even the ultimate securing of a viable Israel; its goal is nothing less than extermination of all opposition to the grab for power, pure and simple. There is, in the end, no other goal. This is a grab for control, control of the symbolic heart of middle eastern and western ideologies, the creation of a monstrous syndicate of evil which has nothing to do with Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Mohammed, or any other seminal religious figure. It has nothing to do with religion, it has nothing to do with oil, it has nothing to do with anything or anyone you'd want to have over to the house for dinner.
This monster centipede now assembling itself out of the ruins of the Bush mob and Netanyahu's insane lust for destruction of everything not him, will rely in great part on the mindless support of ordinary Americans who believe, almost from birth, in the innate destiny of the US intertwined with that of Israel. It is not AIPAC which is the real lynchpin of this nascent cabal, but the hundreds-of-years-old brainwashing of Americans to the end that it is a given, even among non-believers and casual spiritual speculators here, as well as practicing Jews and Christians, that our ultimate destiny cannot be separated from that of Israel, which is nothing more than a fabulous convenience for those who would immanentizise the Judeo-Christian Eschaton or at least usher in a new age of tyranny and oppression (power and control) centered in the midst of an imagined "territory", for the sake of bringing about an end to modernism, rational thought and reason, all thrown over by sheer power for its own sake.
This writer has not ingested any alkyloids today; I am simply stating what ought by now to be obvious: there are a lot of people coming together from disparate backgrounds and using Israel (or at least the territories) as a lever by which to tip the locus of power in the world, to no good end. The Bush administration, by destabilizing not only the middle east but the United States and most all of North America, has helped set the stage for this shift in the center of influence, and it is not an accident that Arcady Gaydmak is centrally featured in the coming debacle. AIPAC is something of a straw dog in this discussion, and ultimately even Israel becomes secondary to the monstrosity taking form there now.
It's time for America - and Israel - to wake up and start thinking in terms of rendering unto Caesar, Herod, Donald Duck or who or whatever, what is theirs, and to separate, in our minds and souls rather than allowing ourselves to be guided in our political choices by pseudo-religious conditioning. The separation of religion and politics has never been more urgently needed than at this moment. Gaydmak has no conscience and it is not a feature of his religious background or lack of it. He has found his natural allies, and in the end they could just as easily include the worst elements of Islamic fundamentalism - and in fact probably does.
If breaking AIPAC would help break the formation of this alliance then it would be worth the effort, not because AIPAC is innately evil, but because we have all grown up believing we and they stand to garner the same benefit in the end, and nothing could be farther from the truth.
We can do our part best by thoroughly disowning, in as official a manner as possible, the Bush administration and all those who have remained loyal to it, while dealing with Israel as Israel and not as a product of the politics of control. We do possess this ability. We do have this influence. We owe it to ourselves, to Israel and to the world to do nothing to help further this gathering of vultures in the desert.
I could barely read through this accurate (as far as I know) article. All I can think to say is that if you are Israeli by birth or by aliyah, please go there during the elections and vote against Bibi. He's the only politician I have seen in action who is almost or maybe worse than Bush. Unbelievable: that he might win anything. Go home, Israelis and Vote!!
I would like to thank Gregory Levey for making us aware of this Russian billionaire and his nefarious influence with the racist, fear-mongering Israeli right. It is shocking knowledge, but hardly surprising. There are tremendous forces today acting against democratic values in Israel. Some are old: Israel has never come to terms with the dark side of its own past, or the intolerant side of Zionism. Some are newer, including (as Levey mentions) a huge influx of Russians who did not grow up with democratic values, or the influence of corporate capitalism run amok, or alliances with reactionary forces within the United States and elsewhere. And, of course, the hysterical rhetoric of Islamism only stokes the fires of Israeli racism and proto-fascism. All this provides the perfect arena for the machinations of oligarchic money men and opportunist politicians. Israel may continue to have the trappings of democracy, but I fear that true democracy in the Holy Land will fade into the past along with the ancient Hebrew prophets.
