    I don't buy it.

    If what the author claims is true that Bush has a surprising intellect and is held in deep respect by his subordinates, etc, then one has to assume because of his choices and behavior that he has a criminal mind or doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong. Why the lies and intrigue if not to deceive?
