  • that Scherer article from June

Please chalk me up as a daily Salon reader who thought the Scherer article was shamefully biased, and even insulting. Thank you, Salon, for finally giving the Richardson campaign fair coverage. I look at all the hoopla surrounding the "top two" and I wonder what on earth people can be thinking. How can we expect to win an election with Clinton, when 45%, in one national poll, say that there is no way they would vote for her? People, haven't we learned yet? You don't win the election if you can't win the purple states. Richardson has a proven record of attracting independent and moderate Republican votes in New Mexico. Clinton and Obama are both fine Senators. In another eight years I would have been on the Obama band wagon, but not this time. He is too new, too untested. He sounds good, and can surely turn a phrase with the best of them, but I can't help feeling like it is all window dressing. Richardson has the experience. He is real and down-to-earth. This article understands the importance of that, and for that I thank Salon.

  • It's About Freaking Time

I like Richardson even more now. I too found Scherer's article annoying, as I stated in my Editor's Choice Letter commenting on it. Thank you, Mr. Shapiro, for a new look at Richardson's campaign, and the Democratic race as a whole. It's about time a media outlet like Salon stopped riding in the MSM's sidecar, pretending to be separate and independent, yet all the while breathing in the exhaust fumes of Clinton's and Obama's "history-making" and "inevitable" campaign buses. It is indeed too soon to winnow the field down to two candidates, and you would do well to remember that, because it is certain that your readers do.

  • Credentials

Bill Richardson has all of the correct credentials. But I will not vote for him or any other Catholic candidate who cannot prove they can stand up to the Pope, who cares nothing about America or killing but ONLY his own persoanal ideology.

That is what makes the current Pope and his predecessor little more than corrupt shills for the Republican party of death and maiming of human beings, and all for ever more oil profits.

I want nothing from them and in fact, despise them. Their agenda of death for profits and political power is an abomination. But it does reveal the true nature of the Catholic Church, once my church but no longer, and their rampant hypocrisy.

  • From New Mexico

Richardson can't take care of the state of N.M.(Population about 2 million.)

How in the world would he be able to take care of the entire country? Truth is lacking in his stance. Did you know his mother and sister both live in Mexico? Did you know he bleeds for illegal aliens? Did you know the Lieutenant Governor (a woman) stands well away from him when they're on the same podium? Did you know his administration is riddled with thieves and questionable appointments? Look before you leap, fellow Democrats.
