  • Elizabeth

If Elizabeth Edwards is saying Hillary is acting "like a man"..that's as bad as Ann Coulter calling John Edwards a faggot.

Enough with the stereotypes all ready!! Ms. Clinton is a Senator for crying out loud. Is she supposed to talk about how to get out grass stains? This country seriously needs to grow up and stop the name calling.

  • False Statements still used

I find it interesting that articles like this, accusing Ann Coulter of saying she wished Edwards was assasitated, when the overwhelming evidence shows that it is a cut and paste from the entire quote are still being used. If you are going to use a quote please use the whole quote to put what is said in perspective. This is one more example of either poor, or slanted opinion pieces masquerading as reporting.

  • Hillary Clinton makes her rivals sound like a bunch of women

No, it's even worse than that for them. When considered alongside Hillary Clinton, her rivals sound like a bunch of mewling teenage girls, talking about their traumas and feelings, when what is needed is a stern rigorous thinker willing to speak bluntly about what must be done. All she has to do to cement her victory is select a conservative man with military credentials to be her running mate - Senator James Webb of Virginia.

A Clinton/Webb ticket would rebuild much of the old Reagan coalition on the Democratic Party's turf.

  • Headline of Drudge Report right now: ELIZABETH EDWARDS SAYS HILLARY 'BEHAVING LIIKE A MAN'

Elizabeth: If you're going to make the headline of the most influential website in washington (drugereport.com) maybe you should have someone paying attention to guiding you during the campaign. In today's world, this interview could very well aid your husbands' eminent derailment. (I actually would vote for John, but I'm not the media telling America what to do)

Joan: I guess you didn't mean any harm. Elizabeth's Coulter interview was her high point. She should have pulled a 'Costanza' and left the room right after that pinnacle.

Grasping for 'relevance' may have undermined her husband's campaign.

  • Coulter quote is out of context

I'm not fan of Ann Coulter but her "assassination" quote is out of context. It is disingenuous and a gift for Elizabeth and the campaign. The campaign claims to be outraged by the tone of Ms. Coulter but they have edited and used the quote for political points.

I believe the full context of the quote is as follows:

COULTER: No, no. They were -- I was denounced all over. All over. I think the one that hurt the most was from I'm a little girl in a pink party dress.com. Very upsetting.

    CUOMO: Why?

COULTER: Though about the same time Bill Maher said -- and by the way, I did not call John Edwards the "F" word. I said I couldn't talk about him because you go into rehab for using that word.

CUOMO: You say you were -- you were joking.

COULTER: Oh yeah, I wouldn't insult gays by comparing them to John Edwards. That would be mean. But about the same time -- you know -- Bill Maher was not joking and saying he wished Dick Cheney had been killed in a terrorist attack. So I've learned my lesson. If I'm going to say anything about John Edwards in the future, I'll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot.

Compare this to the Edward's campaign video at

Your article has reinforced the Edward's version.

  • John Edwards is the Democrats most electable candidate

I wish we could all vote for Elizabeth Edwards! Her humanity and authentic voice ring loud and clear here. I trust her. I believe she speaks the truth...and she makes everyone else seem phony. John has good specific plans, particularly on health care. And his comments about NOT ATTACKING IRAN have been straightforward and smart. It is unlikely that Clinton or Obama can win the general vote. I was wondering if the Clinton campaign had hijacked your website. It took a LOOONG time to log in to make a comment.

  • Typical Distortions By A Liberal

    1. Mrs. Edwards mischaracterizes Coulter's statement about her husband versus Bill Maher's statement entirely. Coulter was illustrating how wrong it would be to call for Edward's assassination by comparing such a statement to when Bill Maher said we would be better off if Cheney had been killed. But you wouldn't realize that from reading this article.

    2. Mrs. Edwards calls for increase of the earned income tax credit, which is welfare. People who qualify for the EIC do not pay income taxes. They are getting a wealth transfer from other people's money. The EIC is welfare. How increasing welfare, with the consequence of giving an incentive not to work, would benefit the country needs to be explained.

    3. Hardball with Chris Matthews is NOT a call-in show. So, the call had to be pre-planned with Matthews' people. You don't just call up, even if you have the number, and have someone make an instant decision to put you on the air. She calls Coulter a coward, but Coulter routinely goes in front of hostile audiences and stands her ground. It is Mrs. Edwards who is being disingenuous. Also, she lumps Coulter together with Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage, as though they are all of the same ilk. There are significant differences in the style and approach of each, not to mention that Mr. Limbaugh is always polite when dealing with others, unlike Coulter and Savage.

    4. She calls for "enforcement" of anti-discriination laws against women. Don't we already have that? An objective interviewer would have asked her whether this would mean increased and aggressive litigation of weak and previously non-cognizable claims.

    5. Was there any real question about Iraq in there such as "What would happen in Iraq if we pull out immediately?" or "What is your husband's plan on terminating our involvement in Iraq?" I didn't see that in there.

    6. Perhaps Mrs. Edwards was asleep when there were reports of Sarin gas found in Iraq. Perhaps she should have been asked, "Isn't it true that most Democrats agreed that there were WMD based on intelligence reports at the time, including Kerry, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, , and dozens of other well known Democrats?"
