    Mental health and race cont'd

    Non-Asian mental health counselors should also know how to deal with race specific pressures and issues. In the 80s and 90s, they didn't know how to deal with my specific cultural issues and maybe it's gotten better (I am American-born Chinese). But when something as horrific as this happens, it's obvious the mental health profession should be tailored to other races besides white. Health insurance also should give mental health parity with physical health.
