  Look, it's really simple... People who join the military are not the best and brightest. They tend to be people who aren't too smart, to say the least. The bottom rung of the current incarnation of homo sapien is, as somebody said earlier, "just out of the caves" (or "just recently out of the jungle", as George Carlin said). Many of these people can barely function in modern society, and need something like the military to be sure that they stay fed and clothed. Is anybody really surprised that rape is rampant in the military?

  I mean really... would a smart person take a "job" like this, in which you have no rights like normal citizens, and you have the very real possibility of getting killed? Our current military is made up of hired thugs. I'm surprised that more of them don't kill and rape each other for sport.

  THIS person is clearly an idiot, and EXACTLY the reason we need mandatory service in the military. So that idiots like this one can experience the hardship, hard work, and dedication that it takes to make this country what it is.

  Mandatory military service might help the ignorant fucks that write shit comments like this realize just how lucky they are to live in this country. It would also make them appreciate the people that actually serve in the military, the people that protect this country.
