"Building 18" echo of Abu Ghraib
Didn't our Leader announce (a long time ago) that Abu Ghraib would be torn down, as if that would erase the atrocities committed there? Cleaning up and renaming "Building 18" sounds like the same plan. I don't mean to suggest that the problems of the two situations are comparable, but I do mean that the "solutions" have similarities. In case it needs to be spelled out, these are not "solutions", but misdirection, as what a magician does to distract you while the real business goes on elsewhere.

SO Infuriating!
I NEVER EVER supported this war. But, as a child of the military medical system, (Navy brat - my dad ran Navy hospitals) I am outraged. I hear of these stories and I also hear of the soldier in Minnesota (where I live,) who hanged himself because he couldn't get PTSD treatment from VA when he needed it (he was 27th in line.) OUTRAGEOUS!!!
Agree with the war or not, these our our children and brothers/sisters. They deserve the very best that is available because they served their country... supposedly the wealthiest country on earth - and we try and screw them out of basic outpatient health care and disability benefits. After all that they've sacrificed for us?!
If the military can't handle all of it in their internal system during wartime, that is understandable. They can't maintain facilities to treat thousands of brain injuries, etc. during peacetime. Fine. Send the overflow to the best private sector hospitals in the country. They can handle the load. And if they need to temporarily expand their operations, no big deal. Yes, it's expensive. But so are precision-guided missiles. That is the cost of war.
You can't put a price tag on what these (VERY YOUNG) guys and girls have sacrificed for our imbecile president. The least we can do is provide them the best available care after Bush/Cheney have lied to them and fucked up their lives.
Everyone needs to write a letter TODAY to their congressperson and both of their Senators demanding that this be fixed - for real. No bullshit. Make it all good with our troops. Peel that fucking "yellow ribbon" magnet off of your cars and mail it to your elected officials... and get serious about what we allowed to happen in our names. It is our responsibility.

4) After deplorable conditions at Walter Reed hospital and its environs are exposed yet again, he and his minions claimed that "no one could've anticipated what has been reported for two years by Salon's Mark Benjamin.
We, therefore, the Representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these [United States], solemnly publish and declare, That these United [States] are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States, that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to [King George], and that all political connection between them and the [family of Bush], is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that . . .

Wake up to reality
These are mostly - below middle class - white trash, trailer park alcoholics, who then accepted excellent pay, for sitting around hoping they get to kill someone - like they did to small animals in their youth - while their parents slept and fucked and serviced addictions fed by the progressive federal government giving them party money via - their SSC SSI WIC payments – and then deflecting them away in the sub-economy of America
…this (Enlistment) was certainly an opportunity, a handout for their life if we so choose to attack foreign darkies.

We predicted 10 to 20,000 casualties, what a savings that would have been – when they all did not die – Bush and Cheney screamed in Chorus –Oh Shit! – Now they’ll really notice how much we are spending – and we don’t have many rich friends in health care, who can pass this government disability spending too – the ‘others’(corporate Satans) will be angry, this will be one to four trillion dollars we can’t funnel to our homies –
