    Oh, sure. that'd have worked

    They should have forcefully announced that this was not so, and that furthermore the two enjoyed the campaigns total support.

    Right. that would have worked. You wouldn't have had every blowhard on televsion, every columnist, every parrotbrain on am radio, ad nauseum blasting Edwards for "supporting and promoting" anti-Catholic bigotry.

    No, actually what the bloggers should have done is STFU or elected NOT to have worked for a candidate that has to get elected in a country where at least 87% of the population identifies itself as Christian.
