With this article, Marcotte has only shown how how un-reflective she is. Her recounting of the past few weeks is filled with nothing but cliches and stock characters (right wing noise machines, vast right wing conspirators, phony outrage, etc., etc.) Reading this article, there's no indication that she's even entertained the idea that her own words were the problem, and that some people took genuine offense at her writings. It shows, frankly, a lack of critical thinking and imagination to not see that people could be honestly outraged by her comments. Those deficiencies alone should have been reason enough for Edwards to fire her.
