Dirty tactics fail in Missouri

Claire McCaskill takes the Senate seat, proving that Republican smear campaigns don't always work in the Show-Me State.

Great News!

This is wonderful. I live in IL, although in the St. Louis media area and with all the ads, I have been following this race. Congratulation to Senator McCaskill! And thanks to the people of Missouri that voted her into office. Now, work on getting rid of Kit Bond and the other Rethuglicans in your state.

Claire sure did Show Me!

You go gurl!! I voted for you in the Governor's race (no more Blunt Trauma, Please!!) and again this year and burned the candles, said the prayers, chased people around to get out the vote...

I have never been so ashamed- my children were even appalled by the ads and they are 7, 9 and 10! It is definately time for a change!

oh, by the way I am a misplaced Virginian stuck in Missouri, temporarily....If I heard "these aren't our Missouri values" from Talent's camp and the Nat'l Rep. one more time....what values are those might I ask....

just call me THANKFUL

A little night music

When I went to bed early on Tuesday night - after working 15 hours as a poll worker - Talent was ahead by 35,000 votes with half the precincts already carried. Ms. McCascill's victory came from the city precincts of St. Louis and Kansas City. Out here in rural Missouri people bought into those ads accusing McCaskill of sheltering money in the Bahamas and using her office for personal gain and condoning rape in nursing homes.

If I ever see Mr. Talent, remind me to spit on him. But, interestingly enough, Claire said that she knows Mr. Talent, and has worked with him, and claims he's a nice guy! So what evil power power forced him to run such vile crap? And why did 49 1/2% of the folks vote for the vile man with the "Missouri values"?

correction

"counted", not "carried".

Rush Limbaugh

I think Rush Limbaugh delivered this win to her on silver platter with garnish. (his hateful and ignorant commentary after the Michael J. Fox ads ran.) Limbaugh is a MO native too.

thank you michael fox and rush

i think this had a critical effect as it played out

on the national level instead of just a state-wide issue.

MISSOURI SPOKE AT THE POLLS

Missouri woke up Nov.8th with Beautiful Blue Skies and a full 6 year Senator (ClaireMcCaskill) and most of us know how long we as Democrats have waited for a Seantor that would hold 6years. Yes, Missouri did not fall for Dirty Tactics they voted from their hearts and souls for Minumum Wage, stem cell research and hope of New direction with Sen.McCaskill leading us. Dave your the greatest and thanks for telling the world we in Missouri do not fall for lies and hate when it comes to the health and wealth of our state..Let this be a lesson for those on prey on the sick, disabled, elderly and low-income residents of Missouri...Job well done by Dave and Claire and proud to be a Missourian...

right on retta

I know that the author, Retta, has worked tirelessly for years to make Missouri worth living in -- I mean, care for our most vulnerable citizens and stop tax giveaways to the rich.

I am so happy to have a democratic senator; we fought so hard for Jean Carnahan to keep her seat.

I could talk all day how good retta is. Simply the finest, most dedicated, volunteer in St louis.
