Allen's last gasps

George Allen's defeat in Virginia won't be official until the last votes are recounted -- but win or lose, he has been beaten to a shell of his good ol' boy self.

    That 8% sliver.

    As the Repugs learned in 2004, you don't need the entire black base to win a middle -road type state - just 8-12% of it. They have this down and it might have worked in Va. and Maryland if they hadn't created such a federal mess.

    Unfortunately for them, we've learned it too. We don't need ALL of the evangelical vote - we just need to cut into it. We don't need the ENTIRE married white maile vote, or the rural vote - we just need to cut into it.

    And we did.

    Tough tillies, Repugnants. Liberals, LEARN. It wasn't all Iraq at all.
