An e-mail trail suggests that current Republican National Committee head Ken Mehlman was lobbyist Jack Abramoff's go-to guy in the White House.

    Close but no kreplach. Abramoff and Mehlman were essentially agents of a foreign government. It will, as during Iran-Contra, go unnamed. Can you take a deep breath and step back far enough to gaze at the whole web of corruption in one glance? When does that AIPAC spying trial begin? No wonder Olmert is wild to spur the US into raping Iran -- we need a good distraction.
