Bush ran as a moderate, tacked right and governed ineffectually -- before 9/11. Since then he's become the most radical American president in history -- and arguably the worst.

  • more more lies

the administration was beset by disclosures that it had refused to take terrorism seriously before the attacks and by stories about dysfunction at the FBI. An FBI agent at the Minneapolis bureau, Coleen Rowley, emerged with documentation of how the Bureau had ignored warnings of the coming terrorist strike.

Which took place during the Clinton administration because of an extra-legal policy put into place by assistant AG Jamie Gorelick (a Clinton appointee) that forbade the FBI and CIA from sharing information.

  • ha ha ha! The funniest lie of all!

A week after his piece appeared, the conservative columnist Robert Novak wrote that "two senior administration officials" had informed him that Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame, an undercover CIA operative, had been responsible for sending him on his mission. The intent was somehow to cast aspersions on Wilson's credibility. (For his service as the acting U.S. ambassador in Iraq during the Gulf War, elder Bush had called him "a hero.") The disclosure of Plame's identity was an apparent felony against national security, a violation of the Intelligence Identity Protection Act, and soon a special prosecutor was appointed

And yet it turns out that Joe Wilson is a proven liar, no crime was committed, and the supposed "outing" was a piece of careless gossip by Richard Armitage, not some conspiracy by Rove or Libby. Poor Sidney, caught in so many lies.

  • HA!

When Hurricane Katrina landed in August 2005 scientific reality and dysfunctional government collided. Bush had systematically distorted, suppressed and ignored evidence of global warming, which scientists believed was responsible for intensifying hurricanes.

And here we are with only six weeks left in the 2006 hurricane season, and Al Gore et al.'s prediction is flat wrong. Only two hurricanes (barely Cat 1 each) and a few tropical storms. So much for "science."

  • How bad is he?

Thank you Mr Blumenthal for your analysis. I feel like I just received a enlightned history lesson which definitely open

some windows to my understanding of how deeply bad Bush's elitist decisions have been. As an average citizen I want to add a few points on how he's hurt the common man. Specially, the low and middle income class. The consequences of Bush's complete neglect of domestic issues such as the serious issue at the borders has hurt us. When is enough? When do we slow down with illegal immigration to just catch up? No one cares to face that reality. I'm a liberal but do I have to bleed? Cries from the populace to do something has fallen on his deaf ears. He doesn't give a damn about helping Mexicans or Mexico, rather its his personal Texan experience of cheap labor that has made a few chosen people wealthy that has shaped his reality about economics and illegal immigration. I just drove through Texas and I have never seen a more ugly neglected landscape-a reminder of the choices he made there as governer. Why do non-americans get medical care with Bush's blessing but 10 -15 percent americans get none? For the politically correct people -try living without it. I taught at an adult ed. school where we would direct ESL students without medical insurance to free clinics. I as a teacher did not get any because they would make sure I worked a few hours under the cut-off. Illegal immigration has put such stress on the quality of education and taken many trade jobs away from americans -illegal immigrants are not just picking fruit as many of my democratic friends try and tell me. I spent a year in New Mexico and they do most all trade jobs in Santa Fe. Yes, its a global economy but when did the lower and middle class americans agree to be the sacraficial lamb? -Much of America is struggling but we don't get this on the news we only get that the economy is good and growing-but people know why. Its mainly because of our growing new underclass . No one care that the middle class is quickly slipping into a lower strata and is also facing low wages or dismal entry level corporate positions where there's no future. Faceless government monolithic corporations come first and bygolly they certainly don't share the benevolence of Henry Ford. Lets not forget about the unregulated interest only bank home loans many of us our facing and have to deal with or the cost of gas.

Another reason we know why Bush was slow on acting with these terrorist threats as you mentioned, was his strong ties to the Saudi royal family whom he depended on for interpertation of middle-eastern history and events. Which is absurb. He identifies with Kings as we all know. His elitist beliefs and corporate interests again hurt the people of the US when the twin towers were hit.

-The entire country witnessed and was tramatized by the devastation of Katrina on TV and were forever changed by the government's slow response to this tragedy. We now realize the government has very little time to respond and to respond quickly. With much of our miltary stretched to the limit, we're living a very fragil existence in the event of another natural disaster. Someone rightfully said we are just 7 meals away from anarchy or to an awful situation like Katrina. I have lost faith in the United States govermnent as someone who cares for its people. Why are our jails filled with unwanted young men?-more than any other country in the world? How can we throw that truth away like garbage? We have lost our hearts for our own. People are viewed as commodities of value or no value.

Bush response when asked, "Why is the federal government dragging its feet with the reconstruction of New Orleans?", that he never saw the drafts for the reconstruction of New Orleans. We know that is a lie.

I believe he should be accountable and that his inaction is covertly racist.

Our country's infrastructure has been totally neglected, ie.our schools can't cope with the increase challenges due to illegal immigration made worse by Bush, no attempts to resolve our health care crisis, and his benign indifference to the quality of life we have lost because of his billions spent in Iraq. Let alone the world's complete disgust with "The Empire". Every hisory buff knows empires don't last because national allegences are compromised. We are walkin that path. I have no hope with George at the helm.

America the one I grew up in, is now a disgraced nation.

Now you'll have to excuse me because I'm going to watch Rock Super-Nova and

see if Lukas or Toby make it tonight. I've had enough of 9-ll and George Bush.
