Scarborough's politics are far to the right of mine and I don't agree with much he says, but I think people are wrong going around labeling him a murderer and adulterer. If you critically examine those conspiracy theory websites, they don't really offer any solid proof that Scarborough harmed Ms. Klausutis (he was in Washington D.C. when she passed away in his Florida office) or that he was having an adulterous relationship with the aide. In his book, Scarborough says he barely knew her and only saw her at a few public events. Scarborough's first wife separated from him in 1997 and divorced him in 1999, so it seems his marriage was well over before the aide passed away in July 2001. The medical examiner declared there was no foul play and that she died of heart failure and fell against a desk, causing injury to her head. Klausutis' husband told a local newspaper that he was satisfied with the ME's findings. Neither he nor Klausutis' family have ever accused Scarborough of any wrongdoing. I'm sure Scarborough makes lots of money at his TV job and if they really had a case, this woman's family would figure out how to sue him for all he's worth.
I honestly don't think people really care about the aide. She's just a tool to smear Scarborough and to vent about the whole Condit/Levy scandal. And to be fair, hasn't the Right tried to smear Democrats by spinning murder conspiracies around Vince Foster, Ron Brown, and the Chappaquiddick incident? Shouldn't we be better than the neocons?

Re: Victory in Iraq
Dear Mr. President:
You had a brilliant idea when you stated, “ We will fight the terrorists overseas so we do not have to face them here at home,” during your speech to the American Legion yesterday.
Our military forces should leave Iraq right away to put your plan to work. The insurgents/terrorists would leave Iraq to follow our forces home. Then we can trap them the minute they get here. To make it easier for them to come home with us we can offer a special JIHAD VISA. We can give them special arrangements to transport their weapons here too so they’ll think they’ll have an opportunity to kill us here at home.
In the mean time the war in Iraq will end, the Iraqis can start to rebuild without the fear of constant explosions, and most important – the war will end in victory – the reason you started the war in the first place. It will be so decisive that no one will ever dispute your brilliance and you will be America’s greatest President ever.
After the JIHAD arrives they will come to claim their weapons and we will know exactly who they are. Once the entire group is in custody all your critics will look silly, too embarrassed to say another word.
I used to be a little skeptical of your policy but now I can see how wrong I was. The mission is complete and we are all more proud to Americans than ever.
Interesting how a Republican would compare Clinton to Bush, isn't it? Let's see... one cheated on his wife, and one started an illegal war killing thousands of people... Yeah, I can see that! and what a brilliant comparison. Now I understand.
Tell me again about these "values"?
thanks for the lori klausutis info, below posters. fascinating.
this is what i love about the salon reader posting forum. you get to read relatively unfiltered stuff from real people that you don't hear about from the creepy, morally abject, lazy media.
For whatever reason, Joe happens to have a pulpit and he's not using it to back up the current administration. In fact, maybe he's making my brutal dinner table arguments with the in laws a little easier. Maybe this is a little too crunchy-dreamcatcher-left for the Salon crew but I think we have bigger fish to fry than Joe. In my book, Joe can now take back burner with a carrot from me. I know I'll be using his little talking points to show how much my father in law and I have in common, (even though his daughter is condemned to a life of bleeding heart causes and vegetarian fare).
Joe Scarborough is full of crap just as Bush is. Scarborough has been screaming about everyone who does not toe the Repug line just like the rest of the Repugs. So now he is flip flopping a bit but he is still a Gingrich Rove corrupt Repug who cares for the party and himself first and America last.
Joe from a non fundamentalist catholic,me, to a fundamentalist catholic you are killing America just like the rest of the Repug catholics. You people are destroying my catholic church by mixing the pope's agenda with American politics and that is bad and corrosive to both.
Do me a favor Joe and tell the pope and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops to get out of American politics. You are just another hateful southerner.
And Joe why don't you just go to work for Fox and that other catholic, Rupert Murdoch.
"Whether it's presenile dementia, hitting the bottle, or something less dramatic, Bush is clearly not the man he was 10 years ago."
Hell, who said anything about him being a man? I thought he was Lucifer incarnate. In fact, I only wish he could bring peace to the Middle East, because then we would have PROOF that he's Satan! And then his righteous Christian supporters would be a world of macaca.
This is a constant issue with Republicans . . . .selective memory. Joe says he's not saying anything different now than what he said in 1994,1995,1996,1997,1998,1999, etc. Are we to imagine that he was mute from 2000 to 2004? Does he take no responsibility for propping up this administration? Not only didn't Shrub ask tough questions, the media (and Joe is one of them) didn't ask ANY questions! People like Joe owe this country one huge mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. They helped run this country into the ground. The don't get to stand around now and wait for someone else to dig it out of the hole. Grab a shovel Joe and get your hands dirty!
