Oh Goody
I wish we could have kicked this man out of the Party long ago. Now it seems I might finally get my wish. Damn, does he have it coming.

Independent voters
If the comment that "independent voters(in Connecticut, I assume) are not adverse to Fox News is accurate, then Lamont has little or no chance of beating Lieberman in November and the Democrats, nationwide, might as well hang it up.

Sorry state of affairs of media in this country
It was a nice article and I am looking forward to this race in CT. But whats disappointing is the fact that now going to a certain TV channel or talking to certain news organization tells weather the person is right winger, or left winger. I thought news was supposed to be neutral reporting.
I think for most part Fox is to blame. Fox calls BBC as enemy of USA. I dont know what their views are about NPR but I dont think they hold them in very high esteem either. If one thinks about these news organizations they are not leaning towards any camp. They just report the facts and in Fox's opinion thats being anti-US or liberal.
On a side note looks like Rupert Murdoch is trying to be real life portrayl of fictional character Elliot Carver from the Bond movie Tomorrow never dies...

I have a question...
Does anyone happen to know what Joe's net worth is? I'm wondering because everytime the media mentions Ned Lamont, it always seems to be "Millionaire Businessman, Ned Lamont". I'm pretty sure that Joe's net worth is in the millions as well, so shouldn't he be referred to as "Millionaire Senator, Joe Lieberman"?. For that matter, shouln't most political figures be referred to as "Millionaire *insert title here*, *insert name here*"?
I for one, will be glad to see him gone. If I never hear one more Lieberman report on the dangers of video games to kids (who's parents shouldn't let them play the games he complains about) I've still heard 10 too many. USA out of my Playstation!

Lieberman has not shame
I do not understand why Joe Lieberman calls himself a Democrat when ideas are more rightwing than the Republicans. His plan is to break the back of Democratic Party by siding with the Republicans. Either he has underestimated the dept of opposition to his plans by voters or he has not shame. It would seem to be running just to divide the Democratic Party. Shame on you Lieberman.

The real reason Gore Lost..............
Gore lost the elections and USA its way, because,Joe Traitor No-Man,
ran as his VP candidate.Gore's loss was not due to Clinton, but due to Liberman.
Though I agree with Joe, as a Hindu American, that muslims are the biggest source of terror and bad news, but JL's traitory vis-a-vis the democratic party is palpable.
Time to kick out this Mole is NOW!
Hello Lamont!!

you guys remind me of Nader
oh, so now a guy who hs a long history of supporting women's rights, sane tax codes, etc and voted with the Dems about 94% of the time is "more rightwing than a Republican".? Doesn't it get cold out there on Pluto? Face it, you guys are anti-Semite bigots.
Oh, and I guess this is Howard Dean's great way to take back the Senate from the GOP right? If you can't win in Alabama then at least you cn f_ck up an election in Conneticut for the Democratic Party to assert you still matter, right?
Folks, the more I see the more I realize the left deserves to be irrelevant. They are stupider than stupid.

Thanks for the laugh, Jane
As if any of us care that Joe is Jewish ... he'd be a traitor no matter what his religion.

From one of those independents in CT
I've always been independent and somewhat passive about politics. That said, this government, from the President and his administration through both houses of Congress has been so flagrant about policies that continually enrich the already rich and heap added pressure on the struggling that I've had to react....
Lieberman... I've participated in several phone in campaigns to register opposition to the new bankruptcy bill, to privatization of Social Security, opposition to the war, to support Feingold's call to censure Bush for breaking the law (wiretapping) (and he was "outraged" about Clinton's behavior?) to oppose the Energy Policy, etc. etc. etc.
--and from what I remember, he's always supported the other side.... or has remained ambiguous and silent until it didn't matter.
He debated about "voting with the courage of his convictions." He has forgotten he is a REPRESENTATIVE in a REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT. It's not about him. He no longer represents my views, and obviously, the views of many of my fellow CT residents. He's not evil, and has done some great things for the state... but in the last few years he's done way too much for the ranks of Boards of Directors, and to bankrupt the country, and more to erode personal rights and upset the system of checks and balances by blindly supporting this administration.
It's time for him to go.
It's time for most of the incumbents to go.
Most of all, it's time to outlaw lobbying. Companies own "our" representatives. Companies are not necessarily evil, but they exist to make money. That often comes at the expense of "us." We citizens need better representation in our representative government.
btw... great question... do we also have "Millionaire Joe Lieberman?" I noticed the incessant use of "millioniare" as well...

Why would a 'Republican' Joe
Vote with the Democrats more than 90% of the time? To throw them off the scent?

Howard Dean's brother
is John Dean. James Dean was a '50s heartthrob who went out in a blaze of glory.

Joe's Voting Record
America is turning more Progressive than ever. Even Democrates (who seem virtually indistinguishable from Republicans 90% of the time) are being looked at as not Progressive enough by most Americans.
We want full universal healthcare -- does Joe?
We are Pro-Choice -- is Joe?
We want living wages and union protections -- does Joe?
We want an intelligent withdrawl from Iraq or at least a different strategy than "same thing, only more bullets" -- does Joe?
So for all those writers claiming Joe is a "true" Democrate and wondering why are we abandoning him, the facts are that Joe and many other Democrates simply aren't doing what we as citizens want them to do. Just obeying our wishes on the above list, Republican or Democrat or Green party, is all it take to get out support.
Yet Joe, just like the Republicans, is against almost everything we say loud and clear we want.
