They've emerged, again
This is what happened to the KKK and their supporters. They became fundamentalist Christians.
-
The KKK and their supporter haven't become fundamentalist Christians
They always were fundamentalist Christians.
The conflation of homophobia and Islamophobia with anti-abortionism is just the same old bigot crap.
To me the worst crime is the brain-washing of the children who are brought out to the protests. They are being twisted by their upbringing, and will most likely end up really messed up in one way or another.
And the fact that the anti-abortionists are also anti-contraception shows the lie of the Abortion is Murder meme. It is not about the fetus, or "pre-born child," it is about sex without consequences. Or even more specifically, sex for enjoyment.
It is impossible to reason with people like this. You just hope you live in a culture that marginalizes them, instead of our current culture, which unfortunately glorifies them.

Ohh, the poor South

Ouch! Nice rant, some good points, marred I'm afraid by all the unnecessary profanity. Too many insults to penises too. The writer is also mistaken in proclaiming that ALL the American revolutionaries and the brain trust of the American Republic ALL started in the northeast. Last time I looked Virginia was still in the South. Jefferson, Washington, Madison were Southerners.
I'm a Southerner too and I live in the South, and I agree with some of what the website argues. (e.g. I don't think the South is any more authentically American than any other part of the country.) I just wish it had been a bit more accurate and fair, minus all the vulgarity.

Mississippi Missive
Operation Save America (OSA) has shown itself to be a collection of cowards. Their efforts are related more to self-aggrandizement than to performing any type of service. One must be aware of their primary targets, pregnant girls and women, who, in OSA’s vernacular, equate to beings who must be subservient and directed by males (thus not “manly” targets). Why don’t they target the other half of the fornication dual?
A sign of things to come is that medical and technological discoveries and practices, particularly in non-USA countries, will obviate the need for “abortion” clinics. Of course there will be fierce resistance to this from those who want to control pregnant girls, but this resistance will be washed aside by the power of technology. It may take several decades for this to happen, but it will happen.
To Flip Benham, who states on his web site:
“We become to the church, to our city, and to our nation living parables which rightly represent God's heart toward His helpless children.”
It is the epitome of hubris to state that you “rightly represent God’s heart”. In fact, this is a definition of blasphemy. Beware all Christians of false prophets, for if you follow them, you too will follow them to the pits of hell. Beware of the wolf in sheep’s clothing, for this clothing is purchased by you.
One definition of “Christian” is “showing a loving concern for others”. It is impossible to show love for others if that love can only be manifested by hate. Love does not grow stronger as hate grows stronger. Love grows stronger as hate weakens. Love replaces hate.
Can you imagine a pot-bellied Jesus Christ wearing a t-shirt with the phrasing, ”Homosexuality Is Sin! Islam Is a Lie! Abortion Is Murder! “? If you can, then I must state that the image of Jesus Christ has certainly plummeted through the millennia. - AGJ

Great way to promote America's image as a liberator
Not only is this report scary for American women, but I shudder to think what will happen when Al Jazeera gets hold of that footage of Koran desecration, and those T-shirts that say "Islam is a lie." Not that anyone in the Middle East was taking Karen Hughes seriously anyway, when she babbled her happy talk about how nice life is in America for everyone including Moslems. But what little honor we have left to lose in the Islamic world will certainly be tarnished by this display of Islam-bashing. The good news is that it's probably not possible for most Moslems to hate America more than they already do after the ham-fisted Iraq occupation, Abu Ghraib, Gitmo, and the black site prisons.

Exactly what happened in Nazi Germany....
It's interesting and sad that Mr. Benham does not see the irony of his actions. Is not the burning of reading materials also "exactly what happened in Nazi Germany?"

Making Friends, Influencing People
When I was on the campus of South Dakota State University last year with the Genocide Awareness Project, I engaged in conversation with a Muslim graduate student from North Africa. We discussed the war in Iraq and other significant matters. When I told him that I wanted to read the Koran, he offered to give me one, and I accepted his offer. Though I may never see this man again, I believe that I made a friend.
The Genocide Awareness Project (GAP), a work of the Center for Bioethical Reform (CBR), has as its purpose the comparison of human abortion to other historical atrocities. With a dozen or more large panels, GAP displays images of aborted children at 10 weeks and older in the womb, adjacent to images of victims of the Holocaust stacked like cordwood, or a murdered child in Rwanda, or men slaughtered in the former Yugoslavia. To see the panels and the images, go to CBR’s website at www.abortionNo.org . Most people on university campuses or anywhere have never imagined pictures of aborted children as horrible as these.
Michelle Goldburg’s article dismisses the humanity of pre-born children. (She would rather describe such things as huge bellied men and celestial music.) So much pro-abortion/pro-choice rhetoric, argument, and bias (as in the major medical institutions and studies cited as sources for Goldburg’s “facts” on the breast cancer/abortion link and post-abortion syndrome) disappears when looking at the contorted, twisted face of an aborted baby. It is the nature of hatred to destroy; it is the nature of love to create, and so abortion does not help women, it hurts them—there’s got to be a better way.
