"Hezbollah fighters -- as opposed to the much more numerous Hezbollah political members, and the vastly more numerous Hezbollah sympathizers -- avoid civilians."
Arab civilians, that is. Hezbollah terrorists have no problem moving among Israeli civilians and blowing them to pieces.
This double-standard is sickening. Arabic, UN, and posturing world leaders express outrage about the dead Lebannese children, and generally, maintain silence about innocent Israelis killed by Hezbollah rockets or homicide bombers?
Get real.
catnick2,
I thought my points were quite clear:
a) It was claimed that rockets were launched from a suburb in Beirut. Hezbollah has no rockets that can hit Israel from Beirut.
b) There are pictures of a group of men riding on an anti-aircraft gun. There's no indication they are Hezbollah at all, and an anti-aircraft gun is a defensive weapon.
c) There's a picture of an aged man holding a AK47, no indication at all that he's Hezbollah. Plus how many AK47 owners do you think there are in the middle-east?
this is ironic, right? because nobody could be that stupid!
Actually that Herald Sun photo claimed to have a broken down truck IN A CHRISTIAN NEIGHBOURHOOD, in the east of Lebanon.
Some genius might like to inform us all why the shi'ite Hezbollah would be in a christian neighbourhood and then pin point any christian neighbourhood that has been bombed to bits.
The Herald Sun is a rag. The article also claims that Katushya rockets had been fired from that christian area - if so were the christians firing them when we know for sure that none have been fired from Beirut at all.
Now the Katushya is a tiny rocket which will cause some damage on a direct hit but the bomb that dropped on the house was a 450 kg US made guided missile.
Get a grip all the muslim haters.

"I will hazard that YOU don't know what the word Anti-Semite means. What do you think it means? Does it apply to just Jews, or does it apply to both Jews and Arabs? Which do you think?"
Well, I don't think it applies to NORTH AMERICAN INDIANS, which is the group Jeffrey referrenced when his knee jerked thusly:
"and finally, the lot of you hypocrites are antisemitic because all of America is 'stolen land'" .
Do YOU think it apply to North American Indians, Dayenu?
Wow, this conversation is bringing out the stupid in a lot of people. Could it be that they aren't actually part of the conversation but simply snapping to attention and speaking what they're told through their master's MEGAPHONE?
The US said the Taliban were hiding behind civilians so to save the civilians they bombed them to death.
The US said the Iraqis were hiding behind civilians so to save the civilians they bombed them to death.
They said it in Vietnam and every other place they have bombed to bits in the last 50 or so years.
It is the US, UK, Israel and the toad called Howard here in Australia who think this is a rational excuse for murdering tens of thousands of innocent people - they are muslims you see so they don't count at all.
And never mind Michael, there is one other government on earth who won't call for an immediate ceasefire -
Dubya won't let Howard.
The crimes against the Lebanese read very much like the crimes they have committed over many, many years in the Gaza and West Bank as they bomb and kill the civilian populations.
Reading the 2002 HRW report on Jenin I find it ironic that the group found over and over again that the Israeli's were hiding behind Palestinians, using them as gun props, forcing them into houses in case they had bombs wired or killing them in their homes if they could not run.
I have never believed the rot about hiding among civilians for the simple reason they would be killing their own families.
How about a different view on the disappearing Hizbollah fighters?
It's really an amazing parlor trick. One moment your an armed to the teeth freedom fighter, launching missiles at Israel, and then, in the blink of an eye, you are an innocent civilian. You don´t even have to change your turban.
Fighter, Civilain, Terrorist, Inocent bystander, Political representative, Hizbollah supporter, etc. Truly a schizophrenic existence. How do you know who you should be?
Well, that's easy.
If the reporter is from Al-Manar - you are a valiant Hizbollah warrior!
If the reporter is anyone else - you are an victim of Israeli violence!
If he is a UN representative - you are a pacifist, and a refugee to boot!
If you die - you are (or were) an innocent bystander, killed by American supported Israeli lackies.
I´m surprised the Hizbollah claim that any of the dead are theirs; but I suppose that if you unfortunately died with your AK-47 in your hands, they can´t really claim that you were a civilian.
To all and sundry, your comments and observations would have more credibility (well, some) by actually spelling the names of the countries involved correctly.
For example, the country just below Lebanon is I-S-R-A-E-L, not Isreel, Isreal or Isrele or Palestine. See, spelling country names the right way really does make us look smarter.
According to your logic, any time a person is killed in a military conflict it is considered to be an act of terrorism by whoever killed them.
The pathetic thing about this modern, twisted kind of "pacifist" logic is that it is not really used to condemn all acts of violence equally, but only to dismiss the entire idea that there can be such a thing as terrorism. You don't condemn Hezbollah or Al-Qaeda; you use your new standards to defend and justify their intentional targeting of civilians. Truly shameful.
Or would you prefer to just call Isreal moral terrorists? In the end you are all the same.
Then go live among the fanatical militant Muslims, you pig. You'll have it just as good as you would in the US or Israel. We're all the same, according to you. So go already.
