. . . decide whether it's more sensible to confront Hizbullah, or the IDF. (Hint: getting rid of Hizbullah would have additional benefits than avoiding the IDF.)
Any honest person must recognize that Israel is a brutal fascist Nation which regularly murders Arab children and then has the nerve to call other people terrorists. Now we are matching its evil atrocity by atrocity in Iraq. I pray to God that he forgives us for what our tax dollars are doing. Shame on us for supporting the murder of children.
It's only natural that Lebanese civilians should pay for Hizb'allah's sins. Someday, the Lebanese will finally find the courage to defend their own country (as Israel does), and they'll evict this terrorist group. But, in the meantime, certainly *Israeli civilians* shouldn't have to suffer at the hands of Hizb.
It's interesting to note, by the way, that the article makes **no mention whatsoever** of the scores of Israeli casualties from the enormous barrage of missiles currently coming from Lebanon. Are only Arab children suffering?!!
If Israel is your God then what a sweet sin that is the one hizbollah has just committed.
Western press is rotten to the bone serving lesser Gods and feasting on cheap words
Saying the Lebanese people, or even the Palestinians, are responsible for Hezbollah and deserve to be punished, makes less sense than saying Israeli citizens are responsible for the IDF and are legitimate targets.
The United States taxpayer props up Israel with billions of dollars in grants and aid and weaponry every year. With that aid, Israel has become the bully on the block, slaughtering thousands of innocent civilians over the years. What Israel does in not in the best interests of the United States. We need to CUT U.S. AID TO ISRAEL NOW.
Here's a wacky thought: how about releasing the soldiers and stopping the rocket attacks?
Nah, why do that? It's much more "heroic" to launch attacks from the midst of a civilian population and scurry away and let the women and children face the retaliation. After all, for Hamas and Hizbullah, what's a few dead babies compared to the "glory" of fighting the never ending fight and finding a way to lose every time.
Does any country really have a "right to exist"? Who gets to decide? The occupiers or the occupied? The whole catastrophe needs a new paradigm and we Americans have got to stop funding war as a means of solving conflict. Let's decide that people, rather than nations, are what have the right to exist, and that war clearly does not respect that. And, more simply, I don't want my tax dollars spent on weapons that kill children. We teach our children to "use their words" instead of hitting. Why can't we adults follow our own rules? We have got to practice what we preach and demand that our tax dollars go to diplomacy and peacemaking.
This article was typical of the type that seems to single out Israel for retaliating against terrorist actions while seemingly minimizing the acts which caused the retaliation. It is deeply saddening that innocent civilians pay the cost for acts of terror. But the article stupidly implies a moral equivalency or worse between those committing terrorism and those defending their citizens from it.
The Arab countries in the Middle East routinely decry the alleged "double standard" that they claim allows Israeli violence against them but not the reverse. The truth of the matter is that the West, even those countries which support the Arab countries, like France, is indeed condescending towards the Muslim Middle East. The condescention comes with good reason. The ridiculous, hateful and frequently violent hyperbole from the leaders of countries like Iran and Libya make them laughing stocks. State-controlled media that spews out racial hatred that hasn't been seen in the West since Nazi Germany and the imbecilic persistence that they have the 'right' to attack Israeli civilians, while complaining about 'disproportionate responses' shows that the leaders of many of these countries are not fit to be taken seriously.
The reality of the situtaion is that Israel has no viable alternative to its current course of action. If a government cannot control and police activities within its own borders, then it falls upon the government of the country under attack to defend itself. Disproportionate response would be irrelevant if terrorists did not commit acts which required a response and responsible leaders did not allow terrorist organizations to thrive in their territory.
Somebody has to deal with the mess in that part of the world before it spreads out of control. Perhaps Israel will do itself and the world a favor during this crisis by militarily initiating 'regime change' in Syria, one of the principal sponsors of terror in the region.
What about Israel releasing the child and female prisoners it holds? Is it because you think they don't matter? We can no longer tolerate the double standard when it comes demanding that only Israel's victims pay up. Thanks to the benevolent media treatment of Israel, Americans never hear about the child and female prisoners from among about 9,000 held in Israeli jails. What are their names, why are they held, how long will they languish in Israeli jails? Yet we know the names and recognize the photos of the captured Israeli soldiers. The cruelty and callousness shown by Israel and those who try to justify its actions only serve to alienate the rest of the world and jeopardise the safey of everyone. It is time to cut US support of Israel.

If only the American people would stop listening to the total BS they are constantly being fed, maybe the U.S. government would!!! Israel is dragging the world into World War 3 in total definance of international law, has flouted UN resolutions for decades with total impunity, maintains an arsenal of nuclear weapons, has repeatedly taken offensive military action against its neighbors, practices brutal collective punishment on the wretched civilian sitting in the refugee camps that Israel put them into, and carries out extra-judicial execution by firing missiles into crowded civilian areas. How much of this insanity is enough? We as Americans destroy our own credibility by pretending that these actions are anything other than criminal. The blood of these innocent people is on the hands of the U.S. government who are supporting this madness financially and diplomatically.
