    Below sea level

Yes, with climate change we need to deliberate where to build and where not to. However, New Orleans is an EXISTING city with a rich history. You want us to just discard it?

A huge portion of The Netherlands is below sea level. Granted, they don't get hurricanes, but the North Sea is a bitch. With climate change, if The Netherlands start to get hurricane-type storms, do you think for one minute the Dutch will throw away the land they've taken from the sea? The answer is a resounding NO. We have the technology to build certain protections against the weather, and you better believe that the Dutch would not hesitate to move quickly to put up a higher, more powerful dike, or do WHATEVER IT TAKES.

But that takes the will of the people, the will of the government, and MONEY. Heaven forbid we raise taxes in this country in order to save people, or a wonderful old city.

Cause that's not what our current government is about, is it?
