The left splits over immigration

Most liberals have celebrated the recent pro-immigration marches. But some leading progressives say illegal immigration hurts American workers.

    Whites Only

    I am reminded of efforts by white unions to keep black workers out for the same reasons that some "liberals" use against immigration reform: to keep unions strong and wages high. This was also used by white workers against the Chinese in the 19th Century.

    It's sad and dispirating to see that rather than pitting whites against Blacks, they are now trying to pit Blacks against Hispanics.
