  • Thank you

Thank you Orville for going to Iraq and reporting on the situation first hand. Thank you for telling us the real situation, as much as anyone can know what is going on.

Robert Simms - I'm only 32 and knew from the start that Gulf War II was a bad idea and based on false pretenses. I was out there protesting in San Francisco with my compatriots.

I don't know how to resolve the mess we're in, but we can't just pull out now and leave the country to descend into Civil War, even though it looks like we're standing on the sidelines as that happens now. Again, I don't know how to proceed, I just know that my heart is heavy with sorrow at this whole darn mess. I hope that democracy and peace can prevail in Iraq, but I fear that won't happen.

  • The Twilight Zone

Schell's able portrait of the isolation of "Coalition" forces and bureaucrats within the Green Zone fortress is a metaphor for worldwide U.S. foreign policy.

  • Nothing new

Maybe its just me but I found the article to be boring in the extreme. The writer shares nothing of real interest and seems more concerned with trying to showcase his lackluster writing skill than actually presenting useful and objective information. The picture that he is so desperately trying to paint is neither unique nor interesting and makes me wonder what kind of person could be in that type of environment and come up with such a dull analysis of what is going on.

To me his represents yet another glaring indication of the persistent dumbing down of US journalism that has been going on over the last four years. It is a process that throughout modern history has been one of the major precursors of totalitarian rule.

  • project censored #4 in 2004

Rummy announced that the p2og would have the terrorists whipsawed and wondering who's who and what's what. The same sectarian violence occurred in the central american countries after negroponte appeared, all the old iran contra suspects are running this show (tell me the definition of mentally ill) then tell me if death destruction and mahem would not be expected. Any story of the green zone has to look at the USUAL SUSPECTS then see if the same things happen where these US UAL suspects appear.

  • All around, gutless prevarication...

No matter what the President and his warmongering officials say about press coverage in Iraq, the fact is the American press is a bunch of wimps i.e., yesterday's press conferance. Every reporter in the room knew the President was lying (not spinning)about the war's progress but not a single reporter challanged him about his gross delusions about what is going on there...a sickening display of cowardice. Sadly, yesterday's outing demostrates that freedom of the press does not guarantee the truth will out.
