How the secular humanist grinch didn't steal Christmas

The right-wing crusade against the liberal "war on Christmas" is great for rallying the troops. Too bad the war doesn't exist.

It's Christmas Whether You're Secular or Religious

The holiday is "Christmas" so why the hesitation to call it what it is? I'm no religious right zealot but I do say "Merry Christmas" rather than "Happy Holidays" when offering the greeting. What is the offense? Maybe there are non-Christians among us who do not celebrate Christmas. Fine. I'm not trying to convert anyone but are they so fragile in their own beliefs that they cannot cope with the overt use of the word "Christmas".

There are some living in the USA who are not legal citizens. Should we stop saying "Happy 4th" or "Happy Independence Day" and replace it with "Happy Long Weekend" or "Happy Day Off". Has "inclusiveness" itself become doctrinal.

Whether you celebrate it in a religious context or a secular one OR NOT AT ALL...call it by it's name..."Christmas".

Yes, the right-wing can be paranoid on this issue but let's be honest...the left can be overly neurotic.
