Off-the-record with Patrick Fitzgerald

The press chases the prosecutor down courthouse halls, panting like dogs after the meaningless scraps of information he tosses us.

What's With This Thorough Investigation Stuff?

Wow, a guy investigating the government is capable of keeping his mouth shut about his findings? He makes the media wait for information until it's time for them to hear it? He plugs up leaks? [More importantly, he hasn't deliberately caused any leaks?] This Patrick Fitzgerald joker must be from another solar system. We don't treat justice like that in these parts, PK.

Just a tip for next time---we like our investigations to be salacious, deceptive, and to focus on matters that have nothing to do with the lives or safety of American citizens. Get some sex in there, man! Lust it up a bit. And, for God's sake, if you can't get the bad guys for a crime, be sure to go after them for something personal. Aim for the cojones and swing away. [After all, that's what will happen to you whenever you DO start talking.]

Whichever way you roll, this "getting to the bottom of it" and "being as thorough as possible" junk won't play around here. In fact, I'll rustle up Ken Starr's number. He'll tell you how the right way to handle this thing...
