I am arming my kid to the teeth

My liberal parents never let me play with toy guns as a boy. Now that my son is 4, I'm stockpiling the arsenal

    good lord.

i feel like this piece was just written to bait. is this for real?

i think you are idiotic to feed your son's obsessions. i was the same when i was a kid; very violence-obsessed. my liberal parents basically did nothing either way about toy guns in our house, and now i loathe guns and anything related to them. i think they should be banned utterly. impossible, of course, but there it is. there is no lesson there.

most likely it would make no difference if you continue the way you do, but maybe it will err on the side of making things worse.

more than anything your piece just made me incredibly depressed. sad. weary.
