@ Laura.D: You don't understand the male sex apparently.

Certain trollish male types at Broadsheet have been trying to educate us for a long time about this. Some of their notions:

1. Men have so much stronger sex drives than women and are really quite incapable of controlling those sex drives.

2. Women have bodies and therefore those bodies must be subject to the sex drives of men. Any other solution to these unequal sex drives constitutes female tyranny which must be overcome by a restoration of male power.

Now, I want to add a couple of thoughts. The upskirting is not unlike the motivations for rape. Experts on rape will tell you that there is such a thing as a power and control rapist. They don't really rape because of their greater sex drives but because of their sexual insecurities when it comes to women. They rape to restore an imbalance that they feel within themselves.

I think these upskirters and men who enjoy true upskirt photos are like this.

Another thing worth thinking about: Anti-social Personality Disorder (APD, more commonly known as sociopathy) is much more common in men than in women. In fact, it is about 10 times a more frequent diagnosis in men.

I would say that your last appeal is entirely ineffective. You ask these men to think of any daughters that they may have. This won't work. First, about one in forty fathers actually molests his daughters. Given the similarity of upskirt motivations to rape motivations and frequency of APD in men, I would say that many upskirters will actually fuck their daughters.

Once in a Houston bar

Patrons drank away their quiet sorrows

A giddy pretty girl of maybe nineteen lifted

A new wavey mini skirt

The sight she flashed

Was one to make the bar patron's eyes hurt

The posterior of her drawers

was of a dull brown-greyish hue

I gulped down my beer

And watched clean jungle cats at the city zoo

@Aka Smith -- Maybe YOU'RE a Rapist -- Would Explain a Few Things...

Rape of females by females

Lori Girshick explores female-female sexual assault in her book Woman-to-Woman Sexual Violence: Does She Call it Rape? (ISBN 1555535275). Justine Chang and Armand Kaye explore the subject in the documentary film, She Stole My Voice. The Network/La Red is a non-profit organization dedicated to the issue of lesbian domestic violence.

Bobbie Rosencrans, a victim of mother-daughter incest and co-author of The Last Secret: Daughters Sexually Abused by Mothers (1997, ISBN 1884444369), a study of 93 women and 9 men sexually abused by their mothers claims she was flooded with responses from female subjects when she began her study. Other researchers in the counseling field have noted similar responses from victims though along with persistent attempts to stifle, or to hold back research into mother-daughter incest and sexual abuse.

Non statutory female on male rape

Non statutory female on male rape is widely, but incorrectly, considered impossible because male erectile response is seen as voluntary, when, in fact, it is involuntary. [3][4] Fear, anger, anxiety, and non-arousal have been cited as factors in being unable to obtain an erection. [2][5] Therefore, male victims of rape by females [6] often face social, political, and legal double standards. [7] Though studies show otherwise [8], female rapists are usually seen as less culpable than male rapists by the courts due to these misunderstandings. Those who do not understand the law in many jurisdictions fail to realize that the forcible penetration of a male by a foreign object or a digit also constitutes the same crime. Since rape by females is much less well known than male-female rape, male victims of female rapists often find little support from rape crisis centers.

Due to these reasons, and the difficulties and comparative rarity of female on male rape compared to standard or statutory rape, it is likely being substantially under-reported in the United States and other developed countries.[9]

Also, Laura.D:

You will notice that whenever a woman writes about the TRUE statistics about sexual assaults by men -- which far, far outnumber sexual assaults by women against either males or females (adults or children), they mention that women too have committed these offenses. The molestation by women of their daughter is so small statistically as to be a blip on the screen -- and even those usually involve women who are merely complicit with acts which are initiated by men.

I have actually read one of the books that Mr. E. mentions because I have done a great deal of reading in the area of sex crimes. I am a former victim advocate and a Court-Appointed Special Advocate for children. I have given speeches, written articles, and attended seminars on sexual assaults.

@Aka Smith -- Attempting to Befuddle Once Again...

Nobody is questioning the statistics. You think a woman raped by a 1% perpetrator is any less raped?

Hmm..

So your attempt to divert attention away by mumbling some numbers doesn't really cut it-- I didn't hear you address the concern. Therefore you must have something to hide. Maybe you REALLY ARE a RAPIST! And here you've been hiding all along, the perfect disguise. Nobody would ever suspect you here. I guess the jig is up now for you, huh? Sorry about that. Didn't mean to blow your cover.

@Aka Smith -- Defining a "Blip"

Just for reference, when AKA Smith says a "Blip", she means 10-15% of _reported_ cases.

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 12:33 PM

I was totally unaware...

But apparently, according to the definition of Rape, all women are potential rapists.
