    Are prophylactic surgeries covered by insurance?

    Will most health insurance policies pay for prophylactic mastectomies and the reconstructive surgeries for women with the BRCA gene mutation? It's a good question. Not all women are fortunate enough to be able to write for television and be able to pay a lot of out of pocket costs.
