The American Lexicon
"For the record, I don't care much for Hillary, but goddamn it, at least be fair about it. SHE DID NOT CRY! Fuck!
-- Garry Owen
Sorry Gary, too late. It's part of the American lexicon and so doesn't matter if it's real or not.
Like Paul Bunyan and his Blue Ox conquered the midwest, Hillary and her tears conquered New Hampshire.
Fuk about sums it up.

What a load of crap!
Thrasher fulminated:
The very idea that a person like Obama who has deliberately avoided being the sterotype Black male that allegedly scares off good white folk could not convince white woman to break from thier gender alliances
What a load of speculative crappola! In fact, the reason NH women bolted from Obama is because he was all sizzle, no substance. I heard on of his speches in NH, from the night before, trying to channel MLK and I almost puked. This guy rambled on for damned near twenty minutes and said NOTHING! Merely getting the dazzled, deranged crowd to keep repeating a mantra.
Obama is a nice black guy, with polished manners and refined speech, rich vocab, but that by no means makes him presidential material. He is more a naif, and also kind of embodies the old Hollywood stereotype of the wise and mystical black person - who incarnates as a 'deus ex machina' to save the sorry-ass whities.
Obama's hope is vast and he peddles it all the time to the clueless reality-challenged minions of "Oprah Nation" - but does he have clue one? I doubt it. Hope is not a policy, and in three debates I have watched thus far I have seen Obama short on any details and long on bloviation and meaningless mush.
Let Obama do us all a favor and at least finish his Senate term, and maybe a second. Get a bit of seasoning. I mean - cripes - the guy has so little seniority he is allocated a basement office! And now he wants to shoot up to the White House! First things first, you crawl before you walk.
The other aspect is in his hope materialization the Reptiles will eat him for dinner then grind up the dregs in their roto-mixer and have them for dessert.
Oh, but you know, I do prefer Obama to Barry Bonds the criminal druggie maggot and HR record debaser.

You Scare Me McGee
Why had you not "had it" with the Pakistanis? Or Muslims? That kind of thinking is poison.
As a side note, a little background on "you're nice enough, Hillary": Obama had tried to greet Clinton before two public debates early on, and she refused to look him in the eye or shake his hand. Of course you knew about this and complained about Clinton at the time?
Would you have preferred Obama lie to us and say how much he admires her?
[Full disclosure: I don't think Obama is the cat's meow either.]

Chris Matthews has a real problem
I've been supporting Obama but could vote for Hillary or even Edwards if they won the nomination.
But as I've watched MS NBC's Hardball program, Matthews has made me ill. His dislike, even hate for Hillary (and Bill) is so over the top, one wonders where the producers are in having him moderate his behavior. Fine, Matthews is not a journalist and he is entitled to his opinions in private.
On his show however, one would wish he could have some semblance of even-handedness. That is apparently not to be. Instead, he is vicious in his portrayal of her, kicking her again and again and again. Clearly, his hateful behavior goes beyond the bounds of reasonable political disagreement.
Even Pat Buchanan, not a favorite of mine, was more charitable and empathic than Chris.
His attacks are no longer in the interest of good television. Matthews is an angry, mean-spirited man who has a problem. There is not a woman that I know who has seen him spout off about Hillary that does not feel he is a pig.
Hardball is a lesser show because of his behavior. I no longer enjoy watching it or him.

@KStone - a little clarification
Perhaps my beef was with Traister, then, for bringing up the GS quote, or for GS herself for saying it. As I implied, it's an egregious assumption that somehow white women have it worse than black men, and whoever pointed out that her quote completely left out black women altogether (Was that you?) was dead on.
But here was my real point: Hillary herself hasn't said or done anything to indicate she's racist (nor has Obama said or done anything to indicate he's sexist--Please don't anyone bring up little crap like his saying "You're likable enough."), so, really, is it too much to ask not to turn this into a mudfest b/t blacks and women? I am thoroughly demoralized in advance at the extent to which this will certainly all come up later with Republicans in the general election. I've delved a bit into right-wing world in the last few days and have been struck by how obssessed they are about Dems. It occurred to me that left-wing sites talk and argue about Obama v. Hillary (v. the left-out Edwards), and right-wing sites talk about how left-wing sites argue about Dems! (No one's talking about Repubs). They are already basting their audiences in the arguments Dems provide against their own (What salonistas say against Obama, against Clinton).
So, yes, GS was wrongheaded, and RT shouldn't have quoted her, but none of that indicts Clinton or Obama.'
Did that make sense?

You know what?
Screw likeability, charisma, or whatever sweet little personality traits the lumpen want in their first woman president. I don't care if she's a robot, or is channeling Mr. Spock. I just want a president who can pull this country out of the miasma that George Bush threw it into.
I am so tired of the terminally insecure American public that wants their egoes stroked by putting one of Their Own (in other words, an idiot) into the White House.
I want someone who is better than us in there and I don't care if that person is prickly or DC's best cocksucker.
I wish people would get off the personality crap and talk about issues. I've been spending weeks trying to see what the real issues are and how the candidates want to address them and its devolved into a morass of shite about personalities, skin color, genitals, and polls.
