Where are the parents of these girls? If my daughter had type 1 diabetes I would be aware of her blood sugars on a daily basis and take action accordingly! It may be that they are part of the problem as is often the case with mainstream eating disorders.
Regarding the above letter and Byetta...I am a dietitian in a physician's office and encourage the doctors to use Byetta on appropriate patients. Studies show it also may even help promote a modest weight loss.
