How one American mom's desire to donate breast milk to African orphans, with a little help from Oprah, stirred up a milk bank mess.

It makes me think of Marie Antoinette: "let them eat cake." No real concept of what is needed or how best to help. Orphans need milk, but they need a lot. They have faulty refridgeration, so formula would be better and FAR cheaper so we could help 10 times as many orphans.

Making some orphans die because some mother is wrapped up in the romance of sending actual breast milk is horrible. Send the breast milk to the local hospital and then send a check to the African orphanage.

Remember on MASH when Charles' rich family secretly left gourmet chocolates on the poor people's doorstep once a year. Yeah, that really helps.
