Letters to the Editor

Jim Zumbo, legendary scribe of the hunting set, was crucified by the NRA, and axed from his job at Outdoor Life, for declaring that assault weapons have no place in hunting. But don't call him a martyr.
  • Blood Lust

Zumbo's troubles are rather pathetic. I can't imagine that hunters would defend the use of assault weapons and I guess now they'll all tote AK's and the lot in protest of Zumbo's statement. Considering Zumbo's about face, I'm not apt to feel any pity for him.

Hunting, in my book, is not a manly sport. I am disgusted by the blood lust involved. To enjoy taking a life, any life, is repugnant and that is what hunting is all about. I do not believe, for one minute, that most hunters actually go hunting to put food on the table. They go because they enjoy stalking and killing prey and this sickens me!

Kerry's hunting trip was embarrassing. I wish he hadn't done it.
