...I was mostly ribbing you and your idea of "natural" with the naturally pretty comments!
Yet another piece of compelling journalizm from Madamoiselle Traister. I was going to write a letter about Debbie's hatred of half of humanity but this story turned out to be more fun to read so...
I find this opinion piece to be engaging on about 10 different levels.
1. High School. Obviously Becky is like that nerdy journalism chick who has a group of ulgy friends all of whom hate the cool kids. It's like Cheerleaders vs Girls-who-actually-have-to-do-their-homework. Or like that scene in The Breakfast Club where Molly Ringwald helps that goth chick put on makeup and be pretty! I am certain that if somebody would take Becky aside and teach her to use cosmetics she would meet a boy and stop hating the pretty girls.
2. If you were rich and sexually available and suchlike like Paris is, you wouldn't waste time "being smart" either. I guess what I mean is this: who are Becky and Tina Fey to say whether Paris Hilton is smart or not? And, ultimately, who cares about being "smart"? Paris Hilton is, by birth and wealth, exempt from having to sully herself with learning things. I mean that seriously. It's like a wealthy Hindu who, because of religion and culture, believes it is beneath him to carry his own luggage. People who have to be "smart" are slaves. Smarts are nothing more than a means to an end. Once you get smart you will end up doing nothing more than working for Paris Hilton's father or someone like him anyway.
3. Does Becky actually know Paris? From reading the essay it seems like Becky has nothing to lose from insulting Paris. But they both come from wealthy families in New York and they both went to ultra exclusive private schools. SO, in my humble opinion Paris and Becky are pretty much exactly the same person. Becky is a journalistic example of the same social forces that made Paris. I don't know anybody writes for Vanity Fair, Becky. I have never been to a party with Gore Vidal, Becky.
4. I have been reading you for years now Becky and you are not very smart either. All you write about is anal sex and abortion rights and other obviously Feminist bullshit. Becky, you don't really exhibit a very profound engagement with the world in your writing. You write about the easiest possible topics. Try being alittle more self critical before you go around speculating about who is smart and who isn't, Dummy. I guess that because you are ugly your parents knew that they would have to "educate" you and get you a job, Dummy.
5. How do you propose to stop her? And what if she proposes to stop you? I wish Paris would buy Salon, close it down and make all of you mop floors in one of her hotels for the rest of your lives. Now that would be a laugh riot.
6. I would rather be Paris Hilton than Becky Traister any day of the week.
There's more but I have to go to the bathroom right now. I am going to write another letter about this later... thanks for the stimulating writing, Becky. Is there perhaps a Nobel Prize for Literature in your future?
...about paying attention to the train wreck that is Paris. I enjoy snark, and I found this article amusing. I subscribe to Salon anyway -- articles about Paris have no effect on that.
The paradox in this, and other articles, is that she manages to make millions of dollars every year, and yet is widely despised. It's suggested that ignoring her will somehow correct this. My question is: Where is all the money coming from? My reading snarky articles about her on Salon does nothing to add to her personal income. I don't watch her TV shows, buy any merchandise she might produce, or buy magazines in order to read about her.
Maybe the people who are inexplicably tossing money at Paris Hilton Inc., whoever they are, are the real enablers, not those of us who are enjoying the free sideshow.
Thomas, it's obvious that you are a big-time Parisite fanboy. Why not just admit it?
I don't know anything about the author, and I personally feel she's giving the whore too much credit. The stupid whore cannot destroy culture...she's nowhere near that powerful.
There are plenty of wealthy and 'sexually available' (whatever the hell that means) women who also go to school and make something of themselves. You are such a hypocrite for criticising their choice to do something useful with their lives. Parisite, like other women, made a choice with her life as well - it is just a different choice, and a bad choice.
I cannot imagine any sane, sensible person having a problem with being 'smart'. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, and if the Parisite has a mind in that vapid head of hers, it's going to waste - especially given her vast resources. While people like me struggle to pay for school, she's trawling the nightclubs every single night.
It's also very ass-holish of you to assume that the author is 'ugly' because she does not like the Parisite. Her looks don't have anything to do with anything. Plenty of good-looking celebrities have also expressed their distatste with the whore. Are they ugly and jealous too? That is a weak excuse and you know it.
As I said, you're just a pathetic fanboy who masturbates to her pictures. I am sure you'r even a male chauvinist who thinks women shouldn't go to school or get jobs - according to you, they should just not be 'smart' and stay home and make sure their vaginas are ready to be ravaged by sexist assholes like you.
You are what's wrong with this world, Thomas, and you are one of the enablers the author wrote about. It's people like you who keep buying her crap. It's not Parisite who needs to be stopped, it's the idiotic fanboys and fangirls who keep enabling her.
