An article in Forbes says that marrying a woman who makes over $30,000 a year will ensure a life of illness, filth and cuckolding. How did we get here again?

  • I Gotta Go For Awhile - But First:

"They embrace the facts and realities of the world (including themselves) rather than denying or avoiding them."

Fact: Bill Clinton said the stated goal of the United States was regime change in Iraq.

Fact: GWB came into office saying the UN wasn't shit.

Fact: George Clooney's movie, Three Kings charged the U.S. with abandoning the people of Iraq after the first Gulf War.

Fact: John Bolton (current Ambassador to the U.N.) said, post 9-11, that we couldn't allow the U.N. to secure our country.

Fact: Post 9-11, The (New Age inspired) Left hasn't accepted any of this reality as worthy of fighting and dying for and they resisted John Bolton's nomination.

"They are spontaneous in their ideas and actions.

Fact: So far, that's only been to attack ourselves, in the name of peace.

    "They are creative."

Fact: The Left thinks The Daily Show is a news program - and Katie Couric is a trusted reporter - very creative.

"They are interested in solving problems; this often includes the problems of others. Solving these problems is often a key focus in their lives.'

Fact: The problem of terrorism involves killing - sometimes killing children - but the Left's outcry was for Israel to stop.

"They feel a closeness to other people, and generally appreciate life."

Fact: That doesn't include our own President or any member of his cabinet.

Fact: Western life, as shown on most programs the Left is drawn to (like The Daily Show) has lost all meaning and they don't know why we do what we do. They think we - who are attacked - are, somehow, picking on the Arabs or anyone else with a, superior, "ancient" culture.

"They have a system of morality that is fully internalized and independent of external authority."

Fact: The Left does not accept the authority of this administration, no matter what.

    "They judge others without prejudice"

Fact: See all of the above.

"In short, self-actualization is reaching your fullest potential."

Fact: Self-actualization is the moral and intellectual confusion of "finding yourself" - and is gonna get us all killed.

    I gotta go.

  • Okay, I'm done

I don't know what you're doing, Louis, but it isn't making sense. You're changing subjects and putting things together which don't belong, calling highly debatable opinions as "facts," pretending not to understand what's being said when challenged...

There's no point in continuing. I wish you the best.

  • Yeah, it looks like Louis has pretty much lost it.

Just remember, Lou, keep hitting those uppity women in the "fuckin mouth". That's the way to be credible and win friends.

Matthew & Kalliope -- great posts. though i have to disagree on Hirshman. I think she makes some excellent points about the need for change at home in relation to housework, etc.

  • Kaliope:

Don't take my last post too seriously - I was being kinda flip - but, in a hurry and being online, there's not always a way to be totally clear about intentions. Sorry.

I looked up Kurt Goldstein and, yep, it's New Age shit. New Age is a pretty broad umberella for stuff, and he's a German, and - viola! - the Esalen Institute is in there somewhere which, if you looked over the Mystic Bourgeoidie site, has a pretty crazy history involving lots of racists/fascists/eugenicists. Here's a link:

    http://www.google.com/custom?q=Esalen&sa=search&cof=S%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fmysticbourgeoisie.blogspot.com%2F%3BGL%3A0%3BAH%3Acenter%3BLH%3A79%3BLC%3A%23156714%3BL%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.rageboy.com%2Fmbimages%2Fheader-mb-top.jpg%3BLW%3A801%3BAWFID%3Ab382302fdbdc8f02%3B&domains=mysticbourgeoisie.blogspot.com&sitesearch=http%3A%2F%2Fmysticbourgeoisie.blogspot.com%2F

And, you can tell me if I'm wrong but, if you aren't "being yourself" already - knowing right from wrong and such - then you're confused. It's all Self-Help nonsense, designed to make one stop thinking clearly.

"You're conflating several issues, here, which is both morally and intellectually confusing... "

    Sorry - didn't mean to.

"Disagreeing with [Rumsfeld] doesn't make me an adherent of new agism (I am most certainly not), and it certainly doesn't make me a fascist."

I'm not suggesting it does. I'm saying New Age thought was started by racists/fascists/eugenics and has permiated our culture so much that it's made our society practically blind to it's influence - and it's influence hurts us in war. (Rumsfeld's point.) And I'll reiterate that women, primarilly, are it's prime targets (You brought self-actualization into this, I didn't. Not that I mind, just an observation.) and that has a lot to do with feminism as it's practiced today.

"I don't know what you're doing, Louis, but it isn't making sense. You're changing subjects and putting things together which don't belong, calling highly debatable opinions as "facts," pretending not to understand what's being said when challenged..."

I keep saying to investigate the links I put up, and the Mystic Bourgeoisie site - which few seem capable of doing - and you'll see (as New Agers say) "it's all connected!". I don't necessarily care for opinions, actually, but like to stick to facts for the same reason Patrick Moynihan said, "We can have our own beliefs but we can't have our own facts." Try these previously posted links with further expanations by me:

The Green Movement was started by a Nazi:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savitri_Devi

Eastern thought is confused on fascism but, somehow, inspires Americans today:

    http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/08/24/sports/fuhrer.php

Yoga was popularized in the West by Nazis/racists/fascists/eugenicists.:

    http://mysticbourgeoisie.blogspot.com/2006/02/yoga-tradition.html

And, as I said, there's lots more where this came from.

Now, ask yourself: why have so many ideas from racist crackpots become so popular in Leftist circles? Weren't the Nazis originally the Left in Germany? What the hell is going on? Go back and look at the link, above, about the Esalen Institute. It's brought a lot of this confusing BS to the public, through many Left-wing heroes (Allen Ginsberg, Timothy Leary, etc.) and others.

I've been a Democrat my whole life, so it doesn't make me happy to realize we've not only lost our way but have been led astray for a long, long time. Americans are convinced to fighting Americans (and getting simple things confused) for no other reason than our enemies lose if we somehow get it right again - as our parents did. It is my opinion that I, Bush/Rumsfeld, etc., have got it right - too "stupid" to fall for the self-actualization line, say - and the Left needs to get in touch with reality again. I was watching a story, yesterday, about how violence in Iraq was down 30-40% and another about Hezbullah's leader regretting the war with Israel but, then, I look at the local paper and what does it say?

    "Bush Doctrine In Tatters."

    How can both be true?

Sincerely, somebody's lying but it's not me. And, contrary to popular opinion, I have not "lost it":

I've never bought into it to begin with.
