Feminism today
I think one of the main problems is that today's feminist movement is associated only with abortion rights, and that focus is leaving women to struggle through the rest of their choices alone. For example, the work of previous generations has lead to the expectation that women will work and raise families, but we're not doing enough to help each other do that. We're left as individuals to cobble together our own child care arrangements and lobby our bosses for maternity leave instead of banding together to make laws about this. Not that feminist groups aren't trying to do that, but I think all that gets lost in the shuffle of the "culture wars" that are focusing on abortion and sex.
I'm going to trot out an old-school feminist phrase here: "The personal is political."
