Letters to the Editor

This letter is associated with the following article:
"Maddox," the Web programmer turned pop-culture hero whose book "The Alphabet of Manliness" recently leapt to the top of Amazon's sales list, talks about obedient wives, the craze for all things manly, and whether the next generation is going to be "totally puss-onified"
  • Funny and Harmless

Maddox is hilarious and anything but a right-wing misogynist.

I am a woman (not an "I'll laugh at sexist jokes so men will like me" one) -- but humor is humor. Virtually EVERYTHING can be funny and every member of every "group" is fair game IF the person telling the joke, or in this case ranting in big white letters, is obviously not some genuine conservative Bush-voting idiot who believes his own putrid sexist, racist, anti-gay, buffoonish garbage.

If you are such a person and enjoy Maddox because you think he "gets it" about the hippies, homos, and feminazis, all the funnier. You don't know you're being laughed at, not with.

I became a fan when Maddox's classic O'Reilly vs Franken rant was circulating. I always end up laughing out loud when I visit his site.
