Love is an illusion. Marriage is misery. The vision and wherewithal to create a loving home from scratch isn't genetically programmed into either gender.
Freely giving of yourself without hesitation is the mark of an enlightened adult, spouse and/or parent -- there is no "later on" or "something else" -- the best visual I can come up with is a weld puddle with a MIG welder, you pull the trigger and maintain the molten pool of metal for the length of the weld. Kind of like a watercolor bead, but with molten metal, faith and patience and focus every minute of every day.
