I looked up 'soul mate' in the dictionary...

My dictionary actually has an entry for 'soul mate' which people may or may not agree with, but strictly by this definition, there is no reason to assume that each person has only one soul-mate in this world, or that marrying your soul-mate will necessarily mean that you live happily ever after, or that you and your soul-mate are necessarily suppose to have a sexual relationship. I guess that would just suck the meaning right out of the term for most people, though, wouldn't it?

BTW, KStone, thanks for the compliment. He did turn out to be crazy or something. Sigh. I love that about him. I have an imperfect soul. It's only fitting that my soul-mate would too. We're not demi-gods, after all, despite what people say about us.
