Life: The disorder

More and more adults and teens are popping pills for ADD, "generalized anxiety disorder" and other quasi-societal conditions. Is it time to retire our moralistic distinction between "recreational" and "medical" drugs?

    ADD is a disease

My son had major undiagnosed ADD (it was never diagnosed in the mid 1960's) so he used illegal drugs to self medicate. He stated for the first time he felt close to normal. That is, until the addiction spiraled out of control. So, there you have it. He turned it around and is just fine now...still with ADD and very successful.

Help these kids with learning differences, short attention spans, difficulty organizing, poor social skills, etc, let them find a solution in the market place or just drop out of school. This is NOT an "either or question" to those living on the edge. Kids with ADD have a much higher than normal addiction rate which just compounds the problem.
