I'm a young woman in a new city and I don't want to be misunderstood.
  • This is an easy one

Straight men *rarely* try to drum up friendships with women one-on-one. "Let's hang out" is a covert "Would you go out with me?" If things don't work out, his fragile ego is spared because it wasn't really a date. You were just hanging out.

This is one of only two shots men have in their relationship bag. The other is: treat 'em like dirt and they stick like mud. I can't believe all the ink that's spilled trying to figure guys out. We're basically a bunch of talking, hairless apes.
