I haven't read the actual letter yet. I just read your "summing up". I also wondered about the vicious, negative letters you and other writers get. I also wonder about comments that complain about you (and other writers) being "narcisstic" and "self involved" when you write about their own experiences.
I've always enjoyed reading about other people's experiences. In fact, when reading all the advice given I always give more authority to those who describe in detail going through a similar experience. I enjoy hearing about the details of other peoples lives. That is why I read.
So you and all other writers who like share the details, emotions, and feeling in your lives please continue doing so.
