honor your beliefs
I don't think you have to operate contradictory to your core beliefs in order to understand and love your daughter.
Going to church is contradictory to your core beliefs. Acting in contradiction to your core beliefs because the majority of society expects you to is a dangerous thing to teach your child. That is how kids get pressured to take drugs.
the best thing you can teach by example is being honest to your core beliefs and not acting according to peer pressure. Theach her to honor her belifs. Don't go to church, that would be teaching her hypocrisy.
Find Other ways, honest to your core beliefs to connect with her. This isn't about trying football, which is just a pasttime, but about your core beliefs, which are not negotiable or flexible.
