The groom invited his best female friend, but I feel weird about a woman watching my husband watching strippers.
  • girl friend at strip club

    LW, I think you're over-reacting. Here's my story.

I'm a woman. One of my dear hometown friends is a guy who loves himself some strip clubs. When we used to hang out in our early 20's, we'd sometimes go to a local strip club. He liked the strippers and I (the poor college student) liked the free drinks (my friends uncle managed the club so we generally didn't pay for a thing). For the most part the guys didn't seem to pay anymore attention to me than they did to each other. After all, there were 1/2 naked girls on stage, why check out the girl wearing jeans and a t-shirt. A few times some guy would ask me to put a tip in a dancers panties (and would even offer me the cash and another drink to do so), but I'm not a stripper myself and I really didn't want some strange guy getting off on me like that. (Instead I would try to discreetly leave a small tip on stage for the girls at the end of their sets - honestly, I feel bad for a lot of them and I would have felt like an ass for not tipping the dancers, while I was tipping the bar staff). I never once thought of myself as being better than other women. I didn't even think much of the guy's girlfriend, except to ask once if she minded his hanging out in strip joints.

So my point is that this woman may not be at all the threat that you are making her out to be. If you trust your husband to contain himself around the strippers (and believe me, some dancers will go pretty far to get a good tip!), then I highly doubt that you have anything to worry about.
