A lot of interesting discourse here. Including FromPhilly's:

We could write about this for a good amount of time. If I had that time, I would certainly get into this more. What a disappointing truth you have stated. How come we can't see a person as a person, they have to be black, white, man, woman, gay, straight, old, young, etc, etc? Is it our vanity? Ignorance? Fear? Anyway, I like what you said and this is why I come to Salon. One thing certainly leads to another in our posts.
