    I'm going to agree with crainy and watneyjinx. It's okay to not go. It's okay to not call. It's okay to not care. Our connections to our biological family is not what gives us our humanity. Sometimes we don't fit and we seek our connections elsewhere. And it doesn't have to stem from some horrific, tragic abuse. Sometimes you just plain don't like any of them and they really don't like you. That's okay. You can turn your back on that without anger or pain or vengence. You can just be... done.
