Dear My Cats Don't Mind Fur,
Who knows if "most" women do this today? All I know is that many of the men I date like it, and often they trim or shave their pubic areas as well. I've been trimming or shaving for over 10 years, for myself first, and then for men who like it. (And, just for the record, there is no part of my body with or without hair that looks like a baby's, since I'm well into my forties.)
There are of course guys who either don't mind pubic hair au naturel or even prefer it. I recently met one and had to disappoint him. I've also seen guys post online personals ads looking for unshaved women.
Whether or not you end up a lonely old lady who yells at her neighbors has more to do with who your friends and neighbors are than whether or not you choose to shave your pubic hair.
Finally, a little unasked-for advice: the next time a man asks you to shave, tell him you will if he does. (I can say that oral sex on a man with smooth testicles and trimmed hair all around is a pleasant experience for both parties.) If he says okay, you two will be doing each other a mutual favor for enhanced pleasure. If he says no way, then you know you've found a real loser.
