Letters to the Editor

Doesn't anybody like the full bush anymore?
  • How much of this is a coastal thing?

This whole brazilian waxing thing, along with many other behaviors I hear about from television, books, and my friends in NYC, makes me wonder what the hell the people in New York (and probably California) are doing. Do people really have sex that quickly with someone? I mean, I've had sex with lots of men but I always considered myself the wild one of my friends.

Dating practices in New York are not necessarily those of the rest of the country. Internet dating, for example. Very common in big cities, not considered anything strange. Where I live, in a midsize city in flyover country, it is still the exception. I also rarely pay for myself on dates, too (another way living in the interior is cheaper.)

As for the shaving itself: I only do it all if I'm going camping for more than 2 nights, and then it's a hygiene issue. The rest of the time it's trimmed. I don't like sex when I'm completely bare because it HURTS--the hair provides a cushion for all the banging.

And the first time I completely shaved, it wigged me out, too, since I hadn't seen that area since I was 11. The guys may not think it makes me look prepubescent, but it makes ME feel weird and perverted.
