i know

>>wounded dudes. the reason I wanted to communicate with the guy is that I do feel like he is incredibly wounded>>

I used to think the same thing about Brightstar66 and wasted a lot of virtual breath trying to show him that negativity only breeds negativity. But i stopped because I came to think he's too wounded.

Happily, kudos girl.

And to echo some other posts:

Even though I generally consider myself a lucky person with reasonable self esteem, yet healthy modesty, I need a reminder booster sometimes. Right now I"m having a job crisis and reading the reminders that I AM an asset to a company help me feel better even if the situation is frustrating. And it remeinds me even if I'm laid off, fired, or quit in a rage, I'll do fine because I'm a creative hard worker and i always do what it takes to survive.

oh no, you the bigot

>>That you hens fail to see this (or, more accurately, don't wish to discuss it since you know it is true) is laughable. Thank you for proving my point. Most successful men don't want to control you, they want what they paid for. Simply put. If it is not delivered they will find someone who will. "Happily Married", you are propagating racial stereotypes>>

someone who calls all women "hens" can not go around pointing the finger of bigotry.

You are a bigot.

money, and men with it, are highly overrated

>>Personally, I tend to be prejudiced against rich men, because they usually want to use their money to control you.>>

I turned down two very wealthy guys not because of this (which is a good point) but because they were so busy making all that money they never had time to be with me. They valued money over human connections.

Makes me think Mr. Crabby is not so wealthy after all. If he was, he's most likely be out making money, not posting on a blog all day long.

In the anonymous world of the internet, we are all millionaires!

...oh, and we all have huge penises too

Oh yeah!

"I'll do fine because I'm a creative hard worker and i always do what it takes to survive."

You're such a HARD worker you're posting here all day. HA!!

Keep patting yourself on the back!

Is any woman who has a bad word to say about men in general, or who uses a term that men don't find wholly complementary, a bigot

and therfore everything she says should be discounted. Just asking, in the interests of equality.

Wednesday, February 8, 2006 01:23 PM

this that

No, you're a bigot based on your entire body of work, all of the post. All the hurtful, insulting, accusing comments as mass generalizations towards women prove you to be bigoted. Hey, Rome wasn't built in a day!

Wednesday, February 8, 2006 01:27 PM

yeah, that's the ticket

>>You're such a HARD worker you're posting here all day.>>

Oh right, I forgot. I don't have to work, I"m a millionaire!

Black Wounded Dude

Thanks Mr. Black Millionaire for sharing your personal ethos. I don't see where you get any racism from posts, how easy to say, and hard to prove. Your sharing your racial background only makes feel me sad. I've bumped into your type before.

BTW...did I ever date you?

Wounded dudes come in all colors.

guys and marriage

-- if men don't aspire to being happily married? Why do they ask us to marry them? No one is forcing them.

There was a study that showed that upwards of 75% of men who married are either outright coerced, or moderately to heavenly pressured to get married before they agree to tie the knot. The average age for a guy to get hitched is around 28. Guys are clearly following the timetables that women are biologically bound to and not theother way around. If guys were to be "settling down" based on their own best interests, they would wait until their mid to late thirties, or even forties before considering it. By that time a guys career has had time to mature, he knows more what he wants and does not want in a partner, has hopefully sowed his oats, and is still young enough to raise his children and attract a young/healthy bride. Guys get married at 28 because they are dating women who are 25, and those women have decided its time to get hitched and start having kids. The pressure starts, guy does not know any better, and before you know it hes married before he even hits 30. Sounds harsh and unromantic, I know, but I believe its more true then not.

What a great world...

...where men aren't responsible for ANYTHING! Not even the result when THEY ask a woman to marry them! Wow!

And they way WOMEN are childish?

older men

"Guys get married at 28 because they are dating women who are 25, and those women have decided its time to get hitched and start having kids."

There's a reason young women date young men and why your May/December theory falls apart. When I was in my 20s and had "older" guys hitting on me (when I was that age, 40 to me was really old), it really didn't matter to me what their bank account was like. Because when you're in your 20s male or female, your libido is pretty high and just like you want the female hotties now, I wanted a male hottie then. And I didn't think a 40-year old man was really going to cut it sexually. I didn't give them the time of day for that reason.

Maybe there are young, nubile women who like older men, but as I see it, it's usually for financial security not because they're so "into" the guy. And heaven help them when the women are 40 and they have a 60 year old on their hands.

Not to mention the fact, do you want to be the old dude trying to throw your kid a baseball? You might hurt something.

Now that I'm in my 40s I have 60 year olds hitting on me. Do you think that looks at all interesting to me?

Want To Buy Some Ocean-Front Property In Kansas?

"There was a study that showed that upwards of 75% of men who married are either outright coerced, or moderately to heavenly pressured to get married before they agree to tie the knot."

And did you know, there was another study which showed that upwards of 90% of all statistics quoted in Internet forums are made up?

--

Your thinking of a 20 year age difference. If the guy is 40, and ready to settle down, he would try and find a 28-35 yr old. Not a 20 year old. And more likely he would be 35-40. Then the age difference is a bit more realistic. A guy can still throw a basketall around with his ten year old daughter at 50 years of age. I will see if I can dig up the exact source of the statistic and post it here. I was not so much advocating that a man should marry somone young enough to be his daughter, but that the majority of men simply marry too young and "cash out" too early. Before they are "ready". And that the reason this happens is from outside pressures, often from their partner, when they are in their mid to late 20s.
